"epic, ominous" and "absolutely spinechilling" are words you would use to describe a song called "Orgasmatron"? That's, like Spinal Tap levels of silliness. "Lick My Love Pump" comes to mind.

Have you heard it? Clearly not.

Interestingly, medical cures for sexual problems include the implanting of electrodes in the spinal column. So spinechilling ain't such a bad description.

:omfg: Wait, you've only just heard Motorhead's Orgasmatron for the first time? Devoted Walnut, Valefor, get in here.

Thank you, sir.
Despite the massive hype surrounding LLN about 5 or 6 years ago, there are some real gems to be found.

Have you ever heard Valefar (Lithuania) - Frigus Ex Tenebris Venit?

Hmmm, no I haven't. I'll check it out though, and see.

Well, Mercyful Fate's Nightmare Be Thy Name has one of the most haunting choruses. So does Egypt.

Lurker of Chalice - Piercing Where They Might

Xasthur - A Tortured Shallow Grave

Sortsind - Blot

Lunar Aurora - Andacht (the whole album). If I had to choose one song from it, I would pick Dunkler Mann.

4 very creepy songs. The Xasthur one is very haunting.

This is my definition of haunting.

This one also comes close...

sick stuff. Reminds me of Atrax Morgue.

But does sick = haunting?

If I stay out of metal, the most haunting piece of music ever created belongs to :

Gyorgi Ligeti - Requiem

IMO, of course.

Xasthur has it's moments, to be sure... the first 6 or so tracks from A Gate Through Bloodstained Mirrors comes to mind.
