Is he on about how we think it's cool to not like a band that have had some kind of commercial success again?

No seriously, credit to Testament for what they have accomplished, still don't like them much though.

Love Testament. They just keep getting better and better, their last 2 albums are easily my favorites. The old ones are great as well and actually, the only album I don't like much by them is Demonic.

14.99 for me  though I would have paid the 24 for it.

I'm pretty sure I only spent 15 or so on it as well, but for some reason 24 was the first number that came to my head. The Sutherlands are invading my head.

Who are you people?

Does anyone actually strive to fully understand things these days or what? I mean, is everything just so immediate that no one is bothered to research shit they have opinions on?

Yes, Testament had a successful era--it's call their whole career. Or is this one of those instances where mainstream success matters? Doesn't matter when concerning classics, right? But it totally matters in terms of success. Pffft!

Maybe all he's saying is that he doesn't like Testament and not phrasing it properly because his comment was obviously jokey? Obviously they've enjoyed success, but that doesn't mean people must like them or be deemed of lower intelligence.

I don't think much of them either. I've heard a couple of their early albums that in my opinion don't match up with the best of the bands in the same style at the time, and having seen them live three times have never been been impressed. No lack of research here.

My Bad, it was a bad topic. I just thought maybe one time in thier career, they were huge but then they went downhill after Practice what you Preach.

Well, I never implied any of those things. There is a distinct difference between saying a band sucks and they weren't successful. I think the Beatles suck. I'd never suggest they weren't successful or influential, etc. But many people online these days will do such things.

Just look at any Nirvana thread.

They've never been huge, but they've always been successful. Don't get me wrong, these cats aren't millionaires; they probably couldn't afford a mobile home, but in terms of their albums, influence, and listener demand, they've always been successful.

The solo in "Return To Serenity" is the greatest solo ever written.

Well all I'm saying is I think steve's post was just a "funny" way of saying Testament suck. I don't think anyone would seriously suggest they haven't enjoyed a measure of success.
