Downloading is illegal as well as evil.

I only download really rare or out of print thrash, death, doom, or 60's/70's proto metal prog rock metal.

If I even remotely tried to keep up with the amount of music I get each week, legitimately, I'd be beyond broke.

Turns out a lot of things I do are illegal, and probably evil, so I'm alright with it.

Since I have gotten older and more responsibiliy my cd purcahsing has dropped by quite a bit. I was buying 5-10 cds every 2 weeks, now I am lucky to get 2 a month. But I still do not condone downloading an album that is readily available.

I'd so love to just sit for a few hours and go through Kens collection.

God damn.

The only ones I can make out are the 2 BLS and the WWF one.

Alphabetically, with the CDs by each artist in chronological order (seems obvious I know, but my flatmate organises that alphabetically as well, weirdo). To do this I have two racks, followed by a double rack, followed by a smaller single rack, then an even smaller wooden rack, then a cabinet, then four big piles on and around my CD player, then two smaller piles on top of the cabinet. My EPs, demos and bootlegs are kept in a small drawer. Haven't counted in a couple of years but I'd guess somewhere in the neighbourhood of 600 or so CDs.

EDIT: Madprops to crast for the Misfits coffin box. Been casually looking to find that at a decent price somewhere.

Aye, I do it alphabetically and then chronologically by artist too. Seems like the only proper way.

To the people with boxes, CD-book thingies, hard drives etc: Why?

Is it a space issue? For then I can understand it. If you have the space though, why not put them up? I think it looks fucking awesome when I come home to someone and they have 600+ CDs on the wall. :D

Currently I'm running out of space though. Need to figure out where the hell I can put up another shelf, and still keep it nice.

Radagast: It's not Misfits, it's CoF - Dusk and Her Embrace coffin box, not quite as cool, :(

Yeah. No wallspace free at all, and I'd need a good-sized wall. I barely have enough room for my DVDs as it is.

I'm am severely running out of space too, in my old flat I had a bit of room for expansion but in my current one I'm like a few square feet short of comfort.

I think music and movies are controlled by different laws, no?
Downloading music is also legal in Switzerland as long as you don't profit from it.

I thought downloading music was legal everywhere, it was only the sharing of files that could land you in bother?

Buying cds is silly. We barely have any cd stores left in Sweden because it's become totally obsolete.
It's almost the same as buying an LP, except cds aren't old enough yet to be cool.
I wish everyone would just stop buying those damn plastic discs, then there would be more music on Spotify.

I was always a thief, since I was born. So that's why I never buy cds.

I don't buy much cd's anymore, can't afford it and somehow I manage to fuck them up in less than 3months. I do buy vinyl fromn time to time, it's a rare treat to myself.

As for how I storage my cd's: suitcases, like the ones a DJ uses for records but then for cd's.
