Terrible.

The gimmick is over. The joke has run its course. And most importantly, the musical effort has given out.

Small clearly can't do the vox anymore, as the choruses that are repeated with childlike, syllabic precision are whispered or strained. (There's a section in "Laser Cannon Deth Sentence" where Small belts out a "D-D-D-D-D-D-D-Die...No joke)

The guitars sound like background noise, as there really aren't any riffs to latch onto. Bass is useless, and the drums are uninspired.

The lyrics aren't even tongue-in-cheek funny. Whomever considered them the "Spinal Tap of Extreme Metal" should reconsider that designation.

When this album is officially released and eligible for review, I wholeheartedly support this for "Crap of the Month" for October.

Honestly, was Metalocalypse ever entertaining apart from in an incredibly superficial "spot the reference" manner? And let's face it, most of them weren't exactly subtle.

But at the bare bones minimum, it was funny and poked fun at some of the bands who try to be "brootal."

But yes, I agree with the fact that it was a name dropping, and references delivered with zero subtlety. (In the grocery store, Nathan gets on the speaker and announces "Cleanup in Aisle Six...Rotten Body Landslide...Enjoy our tasty Hammer Smashed Face).

Why does Gene Hoglan waste his time in that pathetic project?

I can't watch it unless drunk, and even then I cringe a lot. Watch Peep Show instead, y'all.

The first album wasn't too bad in a catchy DM way. As for the show, yeah, it generally failed to be amusing.

I can only enjoy the show if I'm already half-asleep and with friends. Only then can I get a laugh out of it.

I think I'll be reviewing that... will most likely have it up next week or the following week. Don't think I'd give it "Crap of the Month", though... even though It's not that great. Haha.

very soon the new Deicide and Through the eyes of the dead, hopefully Deicide will reverse their descent. Also I'll go against every bone in my body and check out the new Nile even though it will probably suck

New Abigor soon. It's a split/collab album with Blacklodge, so will still be Industrial.

I don't really give a shit what else comes out, new Immortal is grim as hell, it's album of the year for me. So glad they're back together making awesome music.

That's very far and away from what I'd call grim music, but yeah, it's a pretty good blackened thrash/heavy album. Enjoyable, as expected.

Oh come on, it's just what the Immortal nuts say about Immortal. The grim/frostbitten/bitter/cold whatever the fuck stuff is just said all in good fun.

New Gorgoroth is very good, potentially excellent. Modernised production without compromising on the band's core values, a great job.

Indeed, to tell you the truth i am very happy Pest is back in the band. Never really liked Gaahl's vocals to be honest.

I'm really looking forward to hear that one (I've come across the leak, but I'll wait for the proper release). In my opinion Gaahl's vocals are great, but Pest is responsible for one of the sickest vocal perfomances ever on "Under the Sign of Hell" so I hope he hasn't lost his touch. I'm expecting much from this line-up reversion .
