Continuing with the top three threads, what are your top three Gamma Ray songs? i reckon this could be just as difficult as with Blind Guardian but anyway:

1.- Rebellion In Dreamland
2.- Gardens Of The Sinner
3.- Land Of The Free

Granted, I haven't heard every Gamma Ray album, but here goes...

1. Beyond The Black Hole
2. Somewhere Out In Space
3. Man On A Mission

I haven't given Gamma Ray a proper listen in a year or so. Now is a good time I guess!

I do know where I'm starting, Heading for Tomorrow is a fantastic track.

Anyone prefer Scheepers era Gamma Ray over Kai Hansen's singing?

Scheepers is obviously the better singer, but I still prefer Kai. That may be weird, but Kai's voice is addicting.

Not really... Heading for tomorrow is perhaps my favourite Gamma Ray album (tied with Land Of The Free) but overall, Kai's singing Gamma Ray records are better than Ralf's singing ones.
But both eras are splendid.

These guys always gave me a laugh back in highschool. I was never a serious fan but I'd run around in my car with the guys and blast like Anywhere In the Galaxy or whatever that song is called. Good times.

Yes. Like Rhapsody, I find the goofy power metal to be entertaining. We'd throw in some Gamma Ray and play that shit on full blast getting stoned and people who bump Jay Z or whatever in their riced out Hondas would always give us a look.

Except Gamma Ray is not "goofy." Rhapsody is of course, known for their cheese factor. I do not see that in Gamma Ray.

Well, to be fair, Gamma Ray is goofy as hell, but they also have awesome raging metallic glory. Kai Hansen is probably one of my favorite heavy metal performers. He is always smiling and always looks like he's having the time of his life.

How can you say Rhapsody is " of course " but the equally silly sounding Gamma Ray is not? They play cheesy bombastic power metal, with goofy Kai Hansen vocals or whoever they have anymore... Unless Gamma Ray has changed since I've listened to them years ago, which I doubt considering most of their albums sounded the same back then.

You act like saying that they're corny is a bad thing. I had a good time listening to it because of the hammy style of the music and vocals.
