That's such an amazing episode. I don't think any other tv show has ever handled a death so well. Too bad that you only have 5 more episodes or so till Buffy becomes mainly shit, so enjoy the goodness while you can.

My respect for SMG's acting talents shot right up. She'd been doing OK up until then, and to be honest I was probably judging too harshly like I often do, but she was amazing here. Of course, Joss Whedon deserves credit for framing it so well.

**spoilers and that**

I thought the episode was excellent, one of the show's very best, until they threw in that encounter with the vampire at the very end. An opportunity for the show to just do straight-up drama, and they needed to throw that in at the end. Probably network insistence or something. Still good though.

Anyway ***spoilers over*** I've finally got round to watching Deep Space Nine from start to finish (always been a casual Trek fan mainly leaning towards TNG) and I am mostly really enjoying it. Midway through season 3 just now and as I understand it's supposed to get totally amazing from season 4 on. I'm sort of digging how they're still doing one-off episodes but with the whole Dominion thing hanging in the background. Can't wait for the promised giant story arcs though.

SPOILERS OF DOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!

You know, I actually liked that. It showed that even in the face of death and tragedy, life and your responsibilities don't magically disappear; Buffy's job as the slayer won't ever stop, even when it's most inconvenient.

And SMG is definitely Emmy worthy in that episode. She's often overshadowed by the other excellent actors in Buffy, but I found she did a great job throughout the first five seasons- the last two she definitely phones it in, though.

Speaking of Emmys, Michael Emerson (a.k.a. Benjamin Linus on Lost) won for Best Supporting Actor! Woo! He completely deserves it- Emerson brings his a-game every week and partially thanks to his portrayal, Ben Linus is one of the best characters on the show and one of the best villains/not villains/misunderstood people in tv history.

Completely agree. He is awesome in that role. Kinda like William Davis in X-Files. His way of portraying Cancer Man always makes you wonder wether he's completely evil, completely nuts or if he tries to be good by using evil means (if you know what I mean). I love actors who can do that.

And by the way, extremely looking forward to Lost season 5 to be released! Didn't see it on TV. I hope it's great. Still think the first two are best though.

Did anybody else catch the season premiere of House last night? It looks like they're now planning to develop Dr. House's character further with those therapy sessions.

Finally done Buffy season 7, and therefore done the entire Buffy/Angelverse. I liked the finale (though it had its flaws), but overall, season 7 was a giant plotless mess of average which made little sense, ignored the characters we know and love in favour of some really annoying new ones (and one or two cool new ones), and had one of the lamest villains ever. A few really awesome episodes (Selfless, Conversations With Dead People, Storyteller, and the finale) but man did this show go downhill after season 5.

Just in the middle of season 1 of Mad Men now. Holy shit! If a time machine ever gets invented, I'm going back to 1960 to be an ad exec.

Finished season 1 of The Wire today. The ending was a bit meh because I saw it coming.

The Wire is a very good show, but I am wasting my breath here telling you people to watch. Kids nowadays only want vampires, and space romance, and monsters, and super heroes, for shame.

How I Met Your Mother's brand new episode was so-so. expected more after the between-season break.

You're absolutely right in your crticism of the show after season 5. Actually, I began to think that the show lost traction after season 3 but there were some great episodes in 4 & 5. I was ok with Angel until Conner was introduced. I always felt that he never really fit in and was a huge unnecessary distraction. Plus, Whedon's treatment of Cordelia's character kind of soured me as well.

I watched 'FlashFoward' last night. Did anyone else see it? I found it to have a great concept but I'm already finding flaws and ridiculousness.

Season 2 is even better. Great show. Yeah, and agreed, kids watch this. And Peep Show. And Mad Men.
