Ask him why he went away from heavy metal do start playing pop rock?

He actually went from Power Metal to straightforward Heavy Metal... Pop rock sounds NOTHING like Tinnitus Sanctus.

Actually, coming from him that question was pretty tame. Our beloved HT is not what you'd call an Edguy fan. When I saw he responded in this thread, I fully expected to open this up and find him telling you to ask Tobias why he's in such a gay band.

Although, this does make for an interesting question. Ask him if the noticeable changes in the band's sound over the last few years were something he consciously planned or whether they just happened naturally.

Similarly, Edguy has always had great hooks - where are they rooted? Personally, they were better under Power Metal than they were this more commercial direction - does he find that ironic?

Sorry. Eguy is a boy band. They play pop music. Nothing else to it.

Why are you bothering? No-one is impressed. No-one's going to be converted to your way of thinking.

I think the usual, "What bands does he listen to currently" is always a must.

I'd also like to know why he hasn't worked with Matos in so long.

Maybe even a question regarding a remake of Eguy's demos. They had some really awesome stuff on there, but the production just kills the music.

Maybe ask if he has ever thought about doing a full blown melodic speed metal album?? I know that will probably never happen, but...

What it was like working with Alice Cooper? Like, were there noticeable differences in Cooper's approach to writing and recording due to age, or what?

Even if you didnt like how Holy Terror phrased his question i think it would be interesting if you ask Tobias about the change of direction of the band.

BTW this is no way an insult to Tinnitus Sanctus but Pop Rock its kind of an accurate genre description of the album or maybe something like melodic hard rock and if you think theyre playing Heavy Metal you have clearly no idea of what Heavy Metal is.

Anyway this should be a fun interview i guess, Tobias has a great if somehwat dorky sense of humor.


PS. Does anyone remember back in the old forums days when Chris reviewed an Edguy album and someone accused him of being payed by the band? and then Tobias read it and post some lines on his website defending Chris, man good times.

Maybe you could even mention the fact that this website prides itself on being open minded toward "different" metal/music. I know the guy doesn't care one way or the other about what the fans like, but may be more inclined to answer some of the "Why don't you play speed metal anymore" questions.
