Since there aren't any reviews of them on MR and I haven't seen any discussions pertaining to them, I'm starting one. What do you guys think of Municipal Waste?

Municipal Waste are definitely cool, but not my favorite. Fun to watch live, but there are better and more energetic ones. Thought of doing some reviews myself, but I don't listen to them much anymore probably because I spinned their previous records to death a good while ago. Will check out the new album.

I like them up to a point, actually own The Art Of Partying, but they kinda sum up the new wave of Thrash for me; good, but not great, and although the Metal press tries to elevate them above the others (I suppose they have been doing it a bit longer than others) I'd rather be listening to Cannabis Corpse. Absolutely no interest in the new MW album, I know exactly what it'll sound like before I listen.

They are absolutely great live. However I am afraid they won't experiment much in the future, and the first album is all i really need from them right now.

Absolutely agreed, but you should check out Upside Down Church from the new album. I dig the shit out of that song. :dio:

Their newest album has a heavier sound to it. The bass is louder, the guitars are crisper, and the vocals are more aggressive. More of the same musically, but l I like it more than The Art Of Partying, just because of the overall aggression. Massive Aggression is a pretty suitable name for it.

They really like to insult crowds during live performances especially when they open up shows for bigger and better bands. I was in Louisiana when they opened for Lamb of god and they called everyone "dumb cajuns" and got b'ooed off. They make good music though, just not as good as Warbringer.

How can you even compare MW to Warbringer? I like MW and love Warbringer, but they're two completely different kinds of Thrash bands. Comparing them to Gama Bomb or something of the like would've been more suitable.

MW is cool, but very predictable. I find them to be overrated when it comes to new thrash. I get pissed off when people say they are the best of the new thrash and I get pissed when people say that new thrash sucks because of Municipal Waste. if you catch my drift...

I will eventually get the new album, but I am in no rush.

I like 'em. Not as much as I used to, certainly, as I burned myself out a bit on their second two albums a little while ago. I went through a bit of a phase with them after I saw them with Gwar several years ago, which was my introduction to the band. Most recently I got into their first album, which took me longer to get into, largely due to the vocals, which I originally viewed as inferior and now view as awesome. I appreciate how Waste 'Em All is a little bit rawer and on the punk-ier side of things. I realize that this isn't the direction they're moving towards, and don't begrudge them of that or anything, but like DW said, I'll likely be in no rush to pick up the new one.

I thought hazardous mutation was awesome, and art of partying still good, but a little less so.

I bought Massive Aggressive when it came out, and I still can't stop spinning it. I love, love, love it. My favourite of their albums.

Even when Endgame came out a few days ago, I listened to it a couple of times through and went straight back to Massive Aggressive.
