Unfortunately, the only BG albums I own at the moment are A Night At The Opera and A Twist In The Myth, although I also own both Demons And Wizards albums and have heard Imaginations From The Other Side once (but don't really remember its individual songs). So this is going to be a pretty uninformative list:

Another Stranger Me
Precious Jerusalem
The Punishment Divine

Wow. You seriously need to invest in more of their albums.

Well, being that I have only heard everything from Nightfall in Middle Earth forward (ridiculous, I know  ), my top three are:

Mirror Mirror
Noldor (Dead Winter Reigns)
Under the Ice

Not hard for me haha.Easily I would chose Bood Tears,Nightfall and Sacred.Maybe swap out Nightfall for Into the Storm.I love Blood Tears so much, gods if only they utilized the opening acoustic parts more in the song!So wasted.Sigh.But Sacred also kicks huge amounts of ass!Buy and play Sacred 2!Meet and aid Blind Guardian!Do it now!You can even use their "axes" as weapons. :dio:

Indeed you should. But if you haven't, get Nightfall In Middle Earth first.

Not in my opinion. Imaginations is far better, is one of the best metal records.

I slightly prefer Nightfall over Imaginations.

I agree. Every song on Imaginations is killer.

I agree with this too, except that I think it all falls together so perfectly on Nightfall in my opinion. The lyrical concept, improved vocals from Hansi, more varied song material, etc... I just see it as the definition of what Blind Guardian is all about. It sort of bridges between the sound of IFTOS and ANATO, and all the right elements are in place from both aspects of Blind Guardian.

By the way, it's so cool to discuss about bands like these. Everyone has different favourites for different reasons. And this is the sign of a great band.

True that.I've been making a return to my old cd's and enjoying BG alot.I forgot how solid even their old stuf is,I really like Battalions of Fear,Follow the Blind,Tales From the Twilight World and Somewhere far beyond.Oh and the band said they plan on putting Sacred as a bonus track on their next real cd,if they dont do that fully orchestrated album.

IFTOS I have listened to, by the way. But not enough to really have a "favorite song" just yet. I've only listened to it once on Youtube about six months ago.

You should listen to Tales From the Twilight World too, hell the first 6 Blind Guardian albums are essential.

I concur wholeheartedly. Thanks to this thread and my game I've been spinning their discography aton lately.More and more their older cd's are growing on me.I'd say I love Somewhere Far Beyond the best, then Nightfall and Follow the Blind.I love their cover of Satan's Trial By Fire.

I too love Somewhere Far Beyond. It's my fave together with Nightfall and Imaginations. A Night At The Opera could have been just as good if it wasn't so overdone in every possible way. I really like the album, but it could have been a whole lot better if they had toned down some of the orchestral stuff.
