Does Seinfeld have a laughter track? Because I love that Curb doesn't, and I'm on the verge of going for Seinfeld but I hate laughter tracks most of the time...

The bit at the end where Dexter kills Lila (the pyro bitch) in Paris seemed a bit tagged on, almost as if they were afraid of the show getting cancelled and wanted to tie up the loose ends. I'd have preferred it if she got away, tbh. Still, Doakes' death was epic, and although I could have predicted Buffalo Bill going off for another case and leaving Deb in the dirt it still was an emotional moment.

I'm stuck for criticism overall though! Great show, love to see more.
Season 3 just came out on DVD.

Season 4 just started. Nom nom nom!

Yes it has a laugh track but you must at least give it a chance. It's freakin Seinfeld.

Finished OZ. Sixth season was meh, really.

Any recommendations for similar series?

+1

Needs a while to get fully into as well, IMO.

It did?

Maybe in Sweden, but not here. Kinda weird that it started a month early for you...

Seinfeld is pure win.

Started season 1 of The Office today (american version). Only got 2 episodes in, but had some damn good laughs. Only reason I started the Office was because the place where I rent movies didn't have season 1 disk 3 of The Wire, some other ass rented it. So I am just going to buy season 1 of The Wire next week and be done with renting...

The Office is good until you start getting into the latest seasons. Then it turns into a lame soap opera and all the characters turn into flat archetypes.

So I've heard. Oh well, I still have a ways to go until I get into the later seasons. I don't think I will be watching The Office a lot, just when I have downtime at work and have nothing else to rent.

I keep sort of meaning to check the US Office out, but the fact that the first episode has exactly the same script as the first episode of the English office keeps putting me off. Plus, Steve Carrell isn't funny like Ricky Gervais is. OH NO A FAT PEOPLE. Ah, I'm laughing at him, not with him. Phew.

Buffy season 7. Please please please please be better than season 6. Please please please please don't continue to use the most literal and stupid metaphor for drug addiction ever.

I think Ricky Gervais is funny, but you never grow to like his character. In the end you just feel bad for him. Steve Carrell's character, I think, is much funnier because he's likeable. You start loving his character and you get to know him to the point where you know how he's going to react to different situations and people, which is awesome.

Also, you really should watch Seinfeld. I personally think it's better than Curb because it has George, Elaine and Kramer. It's also best to watch from start to finish, otherwise you won't enjoy the running gags.

Gareth>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dwight

I've only watched about three/four episodes of the US office but as far as I can tell it doesn't have a Finchy equivalent either, which is no use.

Also, it is way more of a normal sitcom. It doesn't have the realism. The whole point of David brent's character is that he is unlikeable, and so the US one kind of misses the point in that sense IMO.

Anwyay, it's still funny though.

So I'm going to impulse-buy Seinfeld seasons 1-3 since Amazon has them together for only £9. If I don't like it, I'm going to take it out on youse who recommended it, and I'll ban Seinfeld(26).

The first two seasons, while good, do not truly represent the greatness of the show. But anything from Season 3 and beyond is classic.

Ya... To be honest, I don't think you need to serial watch seasons 1 and 2. There are some good episodes in there, but it isn't Golden Years seinfeld- kind of like Simpsons season 1. I'd stream the highest rated episodes from the first two seasons and then buy dvds for 3 on.
