To be fair, Crom is shit. I had such high hopes for them and it ended up sucking. Two best Spanish bands are Baron Rojo and Panzer. Two best French bands Sortilege and ADX. These are my opinions.

Well, I don't think is shit... is not the best group, but there were a lot of worst groups out there.

And I think Muro is better than Panzer. But we agree in Baron Rojo being the best one :)

True i also like Muro better than Panzer, in fact i think that Baron Rojo and Muro are the best acts from both scenes so for those two bands alone i would vote for the spaniards, but i agree with Stefan that the french were more prolific so thats why i vote the french.

Muro are really kick ass, but there's no way they're better than ADX...at least imo.

btw, i don't vote because i've only heard Muro, Baron Rojo and Obus from the spanish scene; but in september i spend a couple of days in San Sebastian, and hope to find some place there to purchase some more classics from the spanish scene.

oh shit, i quoted myself.

Maybe but like Ganesha said there are alot of memories associated to those bands to be completely imparcial.

i understand that. And anyway Muro are very good: songs like Amos de la Oscuridad, Juicio Final, Maldicion de Kcor or Juega Fuerte make me proud to be a metallero de puta madre. :dio:

I don't want to exchange my Sortilège, Blasphème, Warning, Vulcain for any spanish band... French heavy metal from the 80s kicked ass and that's final! :dio:

And I don't change my Barón Rojo, Muro, Panzer, Angeles del infierno, Los Suaves for any french band. Spanish heavy metal from the 80s kicked ass and that's final! :dio: :dio:

And stub, you're a metallero de puta madre. I don't know any metal records shop in Donosti (San Sebastian) but sure you'd find some.

Conclussion: french and spanish metal of the 80's rulez a lot! :dio: :dio: and you all bitches must try them.

Thanx hombre. And maybe you can give me some advices concerning Panzer's, Obus' and Angeles del Infierno's discographies(which albums to start with? ...and stuff).

Angeles del Infierno: Pacto Con El Diablo is, by far, their best. After that, Diabolicca, 666, Joven Para Morir, in that order.

Panzer: My fav is Toca Madera (1985) but the other 3 (Al Pie del Cañón, Sálvese Quién Pueda, Caballeros de Sangre) are good too.

Obus. To be fair, I always considered Obus the most overrated of all the spanish 80's metal. Their best ones are the first two, Preparate y Poderoso Como el Trueno.

More recommendations: Ñu (Cuentos de ayer y de hoy, A golpe de Látigo) , Los Suaves (Ese día piensa en mí, Maldita Sea Mi Suerte).

Thanx alot.

i'm not surprised by your comment on Obus; a few months ago i've been in Barcelona and purchased the album El Que Mas which dissapointed me alot; it's ok, and fun to listen to(especially the song Vamos Muy Bien), but compared to Baron Rojo it's very average.
Concerning Baron Rojo, i already own Volumen Brutal, Metalmorfosis and En Un Lugar de la Marcha, and i'm very fond of all of them naturally; i would like to go deeper into the discovery of this band, so could you advise me some more of their albums?

Caballeros de Sangre is the best in my opinion. The songs "No hay quien no pare" and "Fuego Prohibido" are fucking amazing.

Metalleros de puta madre y cabrones con huevos de acero!

First, Larga Vida Al Rock, their first one. After you got that, Obstinato, Tierra De Nadie & No Va Mas are the only ones with Sherpa singing, but, being good, aren't as good as the first ones.

What about the albums without Sherpa then?

You should deffinitely start with Larga Vida Al Rock And Roll it has a lot of classic songs, you may also want to try Baron Al Rojo Vivo.

I know this is about spanish and french bands but you may also like V8 from Argentina, their first album Luchando Por El Metal its one piece of awesome speed metal.

One of the hymns of that times in Spain:

Bruque - El heavy no es violencia.
