I'm going to listen to some Agressor now and be content to do it all by myself.

They were part of the scene all the same... I fail to see why singing in French is so important to you.
Considering that, Germany, Sweden, Norway (etc) have pretty poor scenes...

i choose the French and the Spanish scenes on purpose; because they both have that mother tongue characteristic during the 80s that gives them lots of charm. otherwise i don't care, although i have to mention french have a terrible accent in english(more than any other nation, imo)

Klaus Meine!

if half of french singers could have Klaus Meine's shitty accent in english, that would be quite an improvement...

True but, still, it amazes me that Scorpions made such a successful international career with a singer that has a strong german accent.

that's because his accent showed up mostly when he spoke between the songs; when he sang, it was ok.

Spanish, of course. :P

But in spanish scene you must count the thrash english-singing bands like Legion, Fuck Off & Crom, and all the urban hard rock scene of Rosendo, Barricada, Extremoduro, Los Suaves...

Sangre Azul or Manzano was shit, but Niagara, for example, was a good hair metal band

Yes, Ñu is very good, far better than Medina Azahara.

But I voted Spanish for two reasons, basically:

Three of my fav songs of all times.

To be fair, Crom is shit. I had such high hopes for them and it ended up sucking. Two best Spanish bands are Baron Rojo and Panzer. Two best French bands Sortilege and ADX. These are my opinions.

Well, I don't think is shit... is not the best group, but there were a lot of worst groups out there.

And I think Muro is better than Panzer. But we agree in Baron Rojo being the best one :)

French side.
Though Baron Rojo is probably the finest band of both scenes, the French scene had Sortilège, Blasphème, Warning, Trust, Satan Jokers, and a few more... The Spanish were thus outnumbered by the French scene.

Totally agree with this.

True i also like Muro better than Panzer, in fact i think that Baron Rojo and Muro are the best acts from both scenes so for those two bands alone i would vote for the spaniards, but i agree with Stefan that the french were more prolific so thats why i vote the french.

Actually, my teen memories are both spanish and french so I'm pretty neutral on the issue.

Muro are really kick ass, but there's no way they're better than ADX...at least imo.

I think Baron Rojo alone is enough to carry the Spanish through to Victory. It's a close call because I might love Sortilege just as much.....but I have to give it to BR because those first four Baron Rojo albums are amongst the best albums in heavy metal history. Sortilege only has three recordings that I absolutely love, but I would not place them in as best all time. Larga vida al Baron!
