Anyone actually heard this? I'm a fan of Hellfire, so TBH I'm not that psyched to check this out.

Honestly, it's a VERY good and interetsing album.

I am fucking tired of all this non stop blastbeats bullshit and cacophony. I don't know about you guys but after 16-17 years of black metal listening, i'm quite happy to listen to something different and original instead of the usual necro sound, tremolo guitar, non stop blastbeats.

yes, I like listening to my Under a funeral moon or Those of the unlight cds and remember when I was 14 years old but in 2009, I want MORE. To each his own, I guess.

Until Revelations of the black flame, I always thought 1349 was an average black metal band.

Now, i can easily say that 1349 made something VERY interesting and good. And the special edition is really cool with the bonus live cd and the amazing artwork.

so, 90/100 is well deserved. Mostly for the 2cds edition.

Haven't listened to this yet, because my prior experience with them is negative, due to the incessant blastbeats that you mentioned and the generic riffage. Just another shit generic band going through the motions in a sea of shit generic bands going through the motions.

Blastbeats are boring... mindless masturbation without a shred of creativity. Oooh, I can alternate between snare / bass drum in retarded 2/2 time really fast... how special.
This is doubled if the music is a yawn-fest as well.

But Revelations of the black flame is surprising. I mean, really surprising. That's why I really like it.

Most black metal bands I like nowadays must be out of this shitfest. Give me Blut Aus Nord, Xasthur, Leviathan, Nachtmystium, Deathspell Omega anytime.

Well, I'll give this album a chance, going on the fact that we apparently share the same disdain for hyper blasting mediocrity, but this is their last one, haha.

1349 are the first to step away from that template, are they? HA. No. I explained my view on this album in the review, can't be bothered repeating it.

I mean : I was tired of all this bullshit cacophony coming from 1349 too. This fucking band did the same album 3 times. It was time for a change. IMO, this album is good, I mean very good.

Did I suggest your review was bad? No.

Did I ask you to repeat your review? Certainly NOT.

I simply said my opinion about it. Period.

did you give this album some spin since the aftershock? I know this album shocked a lot of people when it came out.

Your made your review like 3 weeks before the release. Maybe 3 months later, it could sound better and less whoawhatthefuckisthat.

They do not have generic riffage.
