Alright, now I know most of you guys hate this genre, but a lot of the times I'm a sucker for toughguy riffs and breakdowns... Through the Eyes of the Dead's 2005 album Bloodlust is a perfect example of deathcore I enjoy... They have great riffs, breakdowns, and the drumming is off the chain.

So are there any other bands that actually represent the genre decently? I'd like to hear a bit more.

The Eyes of a Traitor are the only deathcore band I've heard who actually sounds alright. But I dunno if I'd even go as far as putting them in that bracket.

Dunno if they can be considered deathcore but I think The Black Dahlia Murder are not too bad.

I haven't heard Bloodlust, but I was rather fond of Malice by Through the Eyes of the Dead. And I checked out a Veil of Maya track due to another thread and they seemed pretty cool. Kinda wacky.

The only real Deathcore band I enjoy are that Despised Icon lot. Otherwise, meh. Check out Ted Maul for a Deathcore band challenging themselves and playing something different, and Dam for a Death Metal band adding hardcore and prog to the mix to make a kickass combination. Both reviewed here.

^^ Dude Black Dahlia are awesome, they pull off the whole aggressive melodeath thing with style. All 3 of their albums are good stuff, I'm hyped for the new one.
