Yes, I consider Symphony X, Dream Theater and their likes to be pompous annoyances that call itself prog and display their technicity in long songs just to hide their poor songwriting abilities resulting in a complete incapacity to actually write a good SONG (except when they do some Muse or U2 plagiarism in the case of DT). Opeth, like many other prog-labeled "extreme" metal, is a different matter and, if I'm not a big fan of their kind of music I sometimes enjoy blasting it through the speakers. They are good musicians that are trying something different to enrich their music and I respect them.
And... Pre-Black Sabbath?

You just lost what little credibility you had left and displayed your complete ignorance of Rock history... You're obviously too damn stuck on metal so I'd better leave it here.
I just lost what credibility I had left, this from a guy who thinks that DT don't have
1 good song to their name unless they ripped off shit like Muse or U2?! Fucking please. Yes they have tendancies to start wanking off in some songs in their discography, but only a retard such as yourself would deny the classic status of albums such as Images and Words and Metropolis Pt. 2.
And as for the pre- Black Sabbath thing, I was just giving my opinion, 99% of what I listen to is metal because most other rock bands without the heavy bottom end of the metal sound begin to bore me and become background music. (Does not apply to metal bands doing songs like Opeth's Damnation and the like). Don't get me wrong I still like a few rock bands, as I said like Jethro Tull, some Led Zep, AC/DC and old GnR. You have different tastes and I don't give a fuck.
