I'm not a fan of the load-twins. Not at all, how is Risk in comparison? Haven't heard it.

Actually, I think there are only two wrong things with Risk:
1 - Mustaine's voice which doesn't quite fit the kind of melodic metal the band's was attempting to produce (though I consider this to be his best vocal performance).
2 - The name "Megadeth" on the cover.
Otherwise, it's not a bad album, you should at least try it to make your own opinion about it.

i agree with this. Risk is an enoyable album if you don' t expect thrash or heavy metal. I think Megadeth's most dissapointing album was actually World Needs a Hero.

I think Load & Reload are good bluesy hard rock albums done by an ex thrash band.

Load>Reload>Risk

Risk

To be frank, even when judging it non-relative to the remaining Megadeth discography, I found Risk to be a decidedly poor album.

I would have to disagree, good sir. I thought TWNAH is one of their better albums. I don't know what it is about the album, but it has a certain laid back thrashy style to it which I enjoy greatly. I'd pick it over Risk any day.

TWNAH is shite, I sold it to my mate for £4 when I was 15 or 16. Honestly terrible album.

TWNAH is lame and boring - like Load and Reload. Though, at least it's metal.

Load and Reload is something like alternative heavy country rock, which sucks at any form. :P

I mean, when thinking about rock I imagine ACDC, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, Def Leppard...and compared to this bands, Load and Reload is pathetic, while RISK is somehow exciting in it's own way. Just the opener Insomnia owns Load and Reload and compared to them, Risk is Speed [Rock] Metal.

Def Leppard haven't played Rock music since 1987, Aerosmith haven't since 1992's PUMP, and GnR play wannabe Industrial music now. There also isn't single metal thing about Risk, it's pure Pop music. There also isn't anythiing Country sounding about Load/Reload that isn't called Mama Said. It's very bluesy, but most real Rock tends to be. I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Maybe about the Load/ReLoad comment, but you saying he doesn't know what he's talking about because he said GnR, Aerosmith and Def Leppard are the bands he thinks of when he thinks of rock is ridiculous.

I don't want to start a rock definition discussion, BUT the current Def Leppard is pure rock (and so were Euphoria and Adrenalize - just let X and Slang aside ;) ), and Chinese Democracy too. Not to mention the all time classics of this bands.

Yeah, who cares about the current definitions? Those bands are the ones who released the albums that define rock music for fucks sake.

And to just prove it at least for Def Leppard - Bad Actress from the current record: Songs from the Sparkle Lounge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEfzlypd8wY

Def Leppard have been playing watered down Pop garbage for far longer than they ever played true Rock N Roll. They've even tried telling people they were always a Pop band, which is just ridiculous. Vivian Campell has even gone on record many times saying many times he doesn't even like Hard Rock music.

I say the same thing about Aerosmith, yeah in the 70's they were pure Rock, but ever since the reformation, over 20 years ago, they've been playing mindless nonsense that is written by people who write songs for Celine Dion. PUMP was the very last hurrah for the real Aerosmith and that was close to two decades ago as well. I'd say the are better known to the world at large for I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing then they are for Night in the Ruts. I bet there are a lot of people who couldn't even name an Aerosmith album form the 70's who think Pink is an epitome of their career. Stuff doesn't exist in a vacuum.

When I think of Rock music, I don't think it's synonymous with bands that left the genre behind decades ago. Sorry, I just don't and I like those early Def Leppard albums.

And what do you think, when you hear rock? Nickelback? LOL

Ok, just forget those bands and let's say Velvet Revolver or AIRBOURNE! Better?

But I think we shouldn't argue about records, that are already forgotton because of much better albums like Death Magnetic, United Abominations and the upcoming Endgame.

Btw. I think it's better to compare Load with Youthanasia and Reload with Cryptic Writings - and Megadeth is the clear winner. :)

Aerosmith defined rock music?! Serious LOL. Only for poser 80s idiots. The worst albums from Led Zep, ZZ Top, CCR alone kill everything that Def Leppard and Aerosmith have ever done. Fuck, The Rolling Stones > the shitty cover band on drugs that Aerosmith are. Fuck 80s rock, it's the biggest pile of shite since disco. 70s music for the win.

Early Aerosmith were awesome, and released their best stuff long before the 1980s. Are you wankered, Goat? :P

Listen to Rocks Zad, it will keep you from saying such stupidities.
And 80s rock is not a pile of shite, it's entertaining and pretty damn good when it's well done.

So are snuff films. The Rolling Stones > Aerosmith. Here starts the revolution.
