Seems as if there are those bands who just never seem to release a truly bad record.. wonder what bands will pop up in this thread.. My votes have to go to bands like Kamelot, Shadow Gallery, Symphony X and Within Temptation.. Though must say WT have released several mediocre songs over the years but over all very consistent. Any others metal heads?

Napalm Death, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Blind Guardian, Nasum, Mithras (how many albums do these bands have to have?) off the top of my head.

If they're allowed one or two slip-ups then the list is endless, starting with Slayer and Deicide.

Well i would say they need to have released at least three to be seriously considered.. Must say i agree with most of your list Goat but for whatever reason CC just does nothing for me, all their stuf in my opinion is weak death metal but again only my opinion for what it is worth and have a feeling many will say not much..lol

Sodom and consistent are synonims.

Another one is Metal Church, of course.

Not quite sure how I missed Opeth... as for Kamelot, well I totally forgot those two and more looked at the Khan era but it is a very valid point

Hypocrisy - Catch 22 is like the worst melodic death metal album ive ever heard. The others i mostly agree (except maybe slayer.)

I'd like to add also, Destroyer 666, Esoteric and Immolation.

Might want to throw Deicide off, as for me they have had some pretty seriously bad stuff, Stench of Redemption was utterly horrid when compared with their classics...

I thought it was great. Completely different style of death metal compared to the old stuff.
But Insineratehymn, In Torment in Hell and Scars of the Crucifix are pretty damn bad.
The latest one is also not so good...

Even though I and ITIH were completely dull, I wouldn't call them completely-shitty-beyond-compare bad. And SOTC and the last are great albums.

Manilla Road are the correct answer here. Never released a less than decent album in 30 years, despite Voyager taking its' time to grow on me.

Well I was not so much saying they needed to be shity records but i think a true review of their catalogue would show many more misses than hits.

The last one isn't great, not by any man's standards. It has moments though.

Ok, let;'s see if you guys agree with me on these couple of choices.. Fates Warning should be in that group, though Night on Brocken might not be a great record. Also Nevermore should be listed, might toss a clunker song here and there but overall every record is damn good

Meh @ Kamelot. Their earlier stuff is pretty boring and tasteless. IMO at least.

My vote would go to Dark Quarterer, Slough Feg and maybe Cirith Ungol.
