You're way of answering people with sarcasm and contempt is getting more and more annoying. Bravo Mr. Goat, you finally managed to be worse than Eyesore at the peak of his art.

This said, I feel MR should follow the latest releases and, in addition, review albums that are overlooked and not some obscure second rate thrash, death and black metal bands. There is a lot of bands that deserve a better treatment down here, influential bands, classic bands and, yet, you and and the other reviewer keep reviewing album just because you feel like it getting close to no response from the people reading (or not) it.

Now, I understand that reviewers want to write about things they enjoy but, if you're not willing to inform people, I advise you to start a blog where your reviews would be better suited.

I think that pretty much any big release gets reviewed here soon enough after it comes out, but the purpose of a review site is to inform people of good music regardless of its actuality or not. This isn't a commercial site, people want to review albums that deserve recognition.

Not quite sure how to respond to the 'sarcasm and contempt' part, so I'll ignore it, but it did leave me speechless for a few seconds. I... wow. That's an extremely unfair way to troll a response, there, considering your snide 'this is the internet' and 'start a blog' comments of before, and TOS' 'nyah nyah metalcdratings metalcdratings' nonsense. I've grown to expect this kind of mean-spirited (and completely untrue) criticism, but that doesn't make it enjoyable to read.

As for the rest of your post(s), well, what do you want? What major releases are we 'ignoring'? And it doesn't help your case that the only albums you seem to be requesting are, ooh, second-rate NWOBHM that precisely two or three people have ever shown interest in. You say review albums that are overlooked but then say that reviewing Thrash/Black/Death that is overlooked is not what you want... are you basically repeating your point of before about classic/archive reviews? A point that was already answered perfectly adequately, I might add. Yet again, a variety of music is reviewed at this site by people with very different tastes, just because it's not all to your tastes or more of one genre gets reviewed than another per update doesn't mean you have to start suggesting that we 'start a blog' for the reviews which don't fit up to your personal measure of quality.

You want requests ? Here goes :

Chickenfoot "ST"
Judas Priest "A Touch Of Evil (Live)"
Jorn "Spirit Black"
Killswitch Engage "ST"
Magnum "Into The Valley Of The Moon King"
Hardcore Superstar "Beg For It"
Therion "The Miskolc Experience"

The only reason why my requests are usually aimed at classics or archives is because I trust you to follow metal's actuality... Was I wrong ?

As for the "blog comment", you know I don't see blogs as something small or unimportant. It's just that I expect more from MR.

I did intend to get around to a Chickenfoot review soon, but I'm dealing with some other things first. Like the new He Is Legend.

The only one of them that I'm remotely interested in (me reviewing glam is something that you don't want, haha) is that live Therion. I'll see what I can do!

That's not the point. Those are big releases and none of them has yet been reviewed at MR.

Hardcore Superstar is a big release? I'll give you the new Killswitch, someone has that booked backstage, and obviously J00das Pr00st will get done soon enough...

Since you are talking about big releases still not reviewed I'd like to mention the new Mercenary and Stormlord, which I've been waiting since last year.

Also the new Dark Moor, Celesty, Eluveitie, EToS, Jeff Loomis, Spheric Universe Experience, Impellitteri, In Extremo, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and Korpiklaani just from the bands I listen to. There may be more but I can't think of any right now. Of course some bands like Impellitteri and In Extremo have zero presence on this site so I'm not surprised they haven't been reviewed.

Oh and I have absolutely no problem with the reviews that are being reviewed each week. I'm not that active here to care anyway. Peace.

In the Glam/Hard Rock genre it is. Way bigger than other releases reviewed here anyway.

And, since we're at it, there's also a new Raven coming out.

I think you're active enough to have a say on the matter.

I'm gonna have to agree with the originator of this thread. Over the past 3-4 weeks, I too have noticed a steady decline in power/traditional/gothic metal for death and black metal.

I figured it was from the new influx of reviewers we have on here.

Not being a fan of black metal, I've stayed away a little and I'd say there are more power/traditional metal fans on here than black metal fans...I could be wrong though.

But it's just a little concerning when you have a new week of reviews and none are power metal or traditional metal or gothic metal.

Even though I write for Metal CD Ratings, I too must agree that to get the power metal dose, I go there more often than not.

Also, this is to the reviewers at Metal Reviews...when the hell are you planning on reviewing the new Primal Fear album? Its been out for weeks now and it's been up at MCDR for quite a while, among other metal websites. I figured that this release would have the "major event" tag on it and reviewed as soon as possible....

If metal reviews is heading more towards the black metal scene with their reviews and overall, then I'd like to be informed of that...otherwise you really need to even it up a bit...

haha, if you don't like the direction this site is taking (more like the swing of the pendulum hasn't returned yet, as we all know there are times when there is an overdose of power/gothic/what have you, but whatever), well, than you have metalcdratings... which is exclusive to power / gothic whatever as far as I can tell.

Goddamn, the whining that goes on here.

The reviewers are doing a fine job, "oh noooo, they didn't review what I wanted" wah wah wah... what a crock.
the only thing that this place is really missing are Doom reviews, but you don't see us that are into that genre complaining, do you?

You know whats annoying? MCDR's being plugged here at every oppurtunity.

You should listen to some Magnum. Great great hard rock and not glam.

I think you naming a few bands they may have missed an album for is pretty forgivable.

Just sayin'.

I mean, I could QQ and list a few things they're missing, as well. I just don't see what the point of that is.

Whatever dude. That's ridiculous.

I don't even post in the 'reviews' section here anymore.

Everyone's just commenting on what's over at MCDR and what they like about it. Unless you're only into black/death metal, I can't believe you haven't noticed how well the site is doing. We've maintained a regular update cycle and there are many titles that arrive to the site, most of which are fully reviewed.

Ah, yes, that ancient paradox: arriving to say how ridiculous it is to suggest that MCDR gets plugged too much, and then plugging it further in the same post. Hey... maybe you guys should get a forum, since you spend way too much time over here complaining about how rubbish MR is compared to your godlike site... your snide comment about how you maintain a regular update cycle and fully review the titles which arrive show your ignorance of the MR process, especially since 'full reviewed' according to you guys means a one-sentence sum-up in some cases. Way to go!
