Firstly, thanks to those who have mentioned their support of MCDR. It's very much appreciated.
:D

I too have noticed there's a lot of death/black metal reviews over here, but that's the case with most review sites, as there's far more death/black metal bands than any other kind of metal.
I still visit this site every Monday to see if there are power metal reviews of interest, and there usually is, so I'll continue to visit on Monday's.

I did notice a quick comment that "there's only power metal at MCDR". I really disagree with this, as I think we incorporate a good amount of prog (that leans towards power), symphonic/gothic, thrash, folk, and even doom. The "range" isn't too strict, imo, and we pretty much only avoid death/black metal, or stuff that's too light (rock).

Anyway, thanks again for the support, but keep watching this site too, as there's a fair amount of power metal reviewed regularly...
:)

You're right to point out that there isn't much fanfare around these here parts for doom and gloom. However, I do appreciate when you guys showcase or mention anything that's related to the genre. I've slowly grown to really enjoy listening to this genre of metal, mainly because of the exposure to bands that I've learned about by reading these pages. MR is responsible for introducing me to bands like Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Draconian, November's Doom, Candlemass, Crematory, etc..

Now, I'm off to weep and moan because of the lack of attention that we doomers aren't receiving.

Checking my review list, I don't see a single bit of Doom on there. I will get some on posthaste! Although be forewarned, I do prefer the more extreme types of Doom to the relatively light gloom of Candlemass et al. Are you down with the Drone, sir?

Review some Wormphlegm, haha...

Goat has nailed it with what he said. I mainly frequent this site, because for the most part you get the entire spectrum of metal, with experts in each field. Of course some move on and stop writing, and even some posters from various genres stop posting, but overall this site has the best format, outlays, reviews, forum setup... etc. I would have never known about the world of metal esp (power) which has become my fav genre over the last 7 years if not for this site. The veteran forum posters and writers here has made me a very pleasant metal listener over the last few years in death, black, thrash, and power. I would have missed out on a lot of great music.
Thanks to all

Oh well...never mind there is always next week....That was a quote from my old footy coach...when we lost a game....

so to the OP.......chin up....wipe away the tears...and try ...next week....

I like the idea that someone put forward about reviewing ' old stuff"...just to mix it up a little...

eg..early Dio....in Elf/Rainbow...that kinda thing...

Not that I have much to say....297 post's in 5 years...

Of those posts, I'd say 90% of the bands you have recommended I have purchased. I always look forward to a band recommendation from you.

As a doomer myself, I feel your pain, and I am partly to blame for neglecting my favorite genre for much of the year. That will change, very soon.

I'm waiting for your reviews as if they were spring showers. And, please, don't forget that classic review that you promise me.

I've done a couple of doom reviews recently; Syrach (doom/death) and Ahab (Funeral doom) spring to mind. Of course, my reviews are shit according to steve, but they are still good bands to check out.

Yeah, I've got both in my loooong list of things to check.
And you also reviewed Culted, black-doom, in that list too.

And steve can say what he wants, I always read your reviews and are far from being shit.

Aw, thanks, Ganesh

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Culted. That's a really good doom record, at the scary blackened end of the doom spectrum.
