Hi all. I already own two Fates Warning CD's :

#1) Disconnected
#2) FWX

I'm not really into their 80's releases (as bad as that may sound) so, help me out with the gems that FW have released that I need to hear.

I'll have to give their first two releases another shot. It's been a long time since I've actually listened to those 80's releases, so I may have been a bit hasty with that comment.

I love them all, especially FWX. But they're a different kind of band once you start going back beyond Inside Out. And John Arch's vocals can come off a bit goofy at times.

Perfect Symmetry.

Edit : Oh darn ! Just checked and its among their 80s albums. It is a great album and if you haven't given it a shot, I suggest you try. Besides, it was released in 1989, so that's almost 90s.

Yeah, dude there's a simple rule i've learned in the two genres I love most.

PROGRESSIVE ROCK: Stay away from the 80s. Go so far away that you forget they exist. Never speak the name of this cursed decade.

METAL: Run to the 80s! Never stray too far from the glory of this blessed decade.

That's just the way it works, dude. Metal was booming in the best way during the 80s.

Of course, there are exception to that rule but I understand what you meant and somewhat agree with you.

Awaken the guardian has been on sale for what seems like a year .. worth the money. The vocals can sometimes get annoying, but the riffs and song structures kill.

Get the first three, and then stop.
