Nice surprise this was.

Just wanted to post that I got this album, and it's a pretty badass release. Thanks for the heads up, Dago.

Right, this time I'm actually checking that band out, I've put it off too long. They have a great profile pic on MA.

W00tage! Looking forwards to these.

I just got a hold of what seems to be the new Velvet Cocoon,
however, it is entitled "P aa opal Poere Pr. 33" not Atropine.

Just added that one to my list, as well as Klabautamann. I've been in love with that band since I started posting here.

The Days Of Grays? Wow
That is perhaps one of the
Worst titles ever.

Shut up, Sonata are a brilliant band. One of the best.

Just because you might not like flowery power metal doesn't mean they're a bad band, just that you don't like them. As far as power metal bands go, they're a valid contender for top position.

Yeah, I noticed it after I posted the info. It's truly terrible. I don't even know what it means. Is it about wolves or what.

I also don't like that cover. There are too many things on it. It's a real mess and what is with the skull by the burning tree.

The title's pretty bad, true, and the cover is cluttered, but I'm hoping for some great music.

Wow, that was a worthwhile post. If you're not going to make a worthwhile argument, don't just leave sarcastic one-word answers to get a rise of the previous poster - this isn't Blabbermouth.

(There, I think that's renewed my Modliness for the next year or so)

Anyway, Sonata Arctica, fallen giants in my eyes. Another band where the songwriter decides he doesn't to 'just' be in a power metal band anymore. I guess attempting something totally different is more admirable than just watering your sound down to shitty hard rock, but Unia was a spectacular failure on Tony Kakko's part. Safe and sound is better than weird for the sake of weird - Unia was a disjointed, annoying mess.

Did you check the samples from Jani Liimatainen's new band? Sounds like he is making it for those who were disappointed with Unia.

Brilliant, I was hoping against hope that would be the case. Although they're on Frontiers Records, so expect some AOR-ish stuff.
