@ Pyroman and Voice: yeah, I saw those albums in a list. Actually I'm gonna post it in the other thread.

I'm adding this gem:

Nahemah
A New Constellation
May 25th, 2009

These spaniards are quite talented. For fans of Opeth, Amorphis and the melodic-atmospheric-deathy-Metal. Excellent singer by the way, he clearly has mastered both clean and growl voices. I'm expecting a review soon, lately the reviewers have been very active and up to date, keep up the good work

Both are very good. I find myself listening to them all the time.

Im slow on catching up as usual, haven't heard anything that's really blown me away this year. I guess Augury have made the best one yet or so.

Just got Unreal. Hell yes this is brilliant! I like it even better than Anima. They really stepped up their technicality, and still remain damn melodic! Awesome!!

You really like it that much? I think it's a step down from Anima. Sounds too modern with chunky, groovy riffs and little speed. There are no more cool instrumental passages like the ones on End of Trauma, Neptune's Revenge or World of Madness and the solos are so uninspired and boring. The good songs are crammed up in the beginning (Down Memory Lane and Lakeside Park) while the worst are in the second half (Lost Ghost, Dragged and Tomorrow). It's actually a huge step down from Anima, which had better riffs, better solos, better melodies and knew when to speed things up and when to groove. This is going in my "disappointments of the year" list.

I actually made that post just before Lost Ghost. Dragged is horrible.

Be'lakor
Stone's Reach
June 29th
90/100

This is Melodic Death the way I like, epic, melancholic, not so fast but plenty of double-bass and with acoustic passages. And of course tons of riffs!

New Be'lakor! Great stuff, wish they'd let me know since I was so nice to their last album. Oh well.

Yes, in fact I thought of you (not in a gay way) when I saw the album. You called their first effort "possibly the best Melodic Death album ever made" or something like that. It seems your adulation was worthless

Check out the avatar.

Blood Tsunami's second is all-destroying. Do yourself a favour and check it out.

Not quite sure it's my favourite of 2009, but its up there.

You never explained why you hate them.

I mean, you didn't just say they're not for you, you said they were "total rubbish".

I just find it a little odd. Even if you HATE the vocals, the thing is a bona-fide riff fest. There are heaps!

Track 3, Personal Exorcism, is one of the most well considered, well-structured, fucking EPIC pieces of thrash since....well, in a long time. It's the sort of song where you can hear care and consideration in every bar.

And don't even get me started on the leads!

I just don't like them.

When I listen to thrash, I want thrash. Not some melodeath or metalcore added in. I want thrash.

I just don't like them.
