My friend John is the guy talking on "Nonsense Mediated Decay." That's a spoken word piece he did. His son is on it, too. Believer have already asked him for a follow-up piece for their next album.

:dio: Can't wait. This band were quite the find for me, pity the Thrashsters around here aren't into them.

Could it be because they're Christian and a lot of thrashers don't consider Christian thrash serious?

Maybe... heck, I'm hardly a posterboy for Christ yet I love 'em. Are you saying that Thrashers are naturally bigoted, Stormo?

I wouldn't go as far as saying their bigoted but you have to understand that some may see Christian thrash as a contraction in terms. Thrash according to some deals with rebellion and anger something they don't see being Christian related. They see God as peace and love which doesn't fit the trash persona.

I hear thrash... I actually hear a ton of thrash in this. I've been on a big tech binge. So this molds well with the speedy techy stuff i've been looking for. Nice find Zad.

Sad thing is, Believer have never been a band to trumpet their beliefs, much like Helloween. Yes, the guys in the band are Christian, but they're not Christian metal.

That's the cover artists MySpace page. Pretty kick-ass stuff right there.

So, tell me, what's this?

Quote:
Rise up, so you can take a stand against the schemes of evil
Courage, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power
Struggle, not for flesh and blood but against dark forces
Rulers and authorities of sin from the spiritual world
Attack, oppose the Prince of Death in the heavenly realms
Power from the armor, you must stand your ground

We will UNITE AS ONE
We'll stand and FIGHT AS ONE

Take up the potent shield of faith with which you can extinguish
Flaming arrows of the one who seeks to slay the chosen
Uphold the double edged sword which is the Living Word
Piercing unlike any other blade judging thoughts and actions

Weapons of divine power to destroy all strongholds
Fighting the good fight of faith intent on final conquest
Join us disciples of the light in this spiritual warfare
Take hold of eternal life saving souls from Hell

I never said they didn't write about their beliefs. Helloween writes about their beliefs all the time. Does anyone view them as Christian metal?

I DLed and had a look, wasn't really feeling this one... Which I thought was strange since from the review and style of music it was labled as, I figured I would.

It can seem kinda monotonous if you're not digging it, but following their albums chronologically as I did you can really see the progression.

One of my favourite bands since receiving their first album on casette. I still remember sitting with my two brothers opening the package and being blown away! In those days (1989) you had to wait incredibly long for albums to arrive.
