These sweet bastards from Liverpool released a second album at the end of last year called the Dividing Line. I only just got round to picking it up a few days ago.
Anybody check it out?
It's a different beast from their first one. When I put it on, I was trying to see how they compare to Municipal Waste, which is the natural thing to do, I guess, with any contemporary crossover act. I realised pretty quick that I was being unfair to SSS.
Where their first album was mostly thrash with short track lengths, the hardcore influence is readily evident on this one. It's heavier, faster, the tracks are even shorter, and there's more of them. And they seem to mix the thrash riffs up with a more punky four-chord riffs than they did before.
And I know the track names sound ridiculous, but trust me, these guys sounds fucking PISSED OFF all across this album.
So yeah, I think they're different enough from the Waste to be appreciated entirely for their own merits.

There's quite a few tracks from the new album up there. The first one is a great track, but perhaps not the best example of what I'm talking about, so listen to a couple more as well. (I really like Times Up, Ride the best fuck the rest, and 3:06)
Opinions?
