Shut the fuck up with your constant whining. If the new and original gets more attention than the old and tired, who's to blame? I've been calling for more attention to be given to both for months, I review more 'proper' Metal than non-metal, and people ignore both equally the same. I mean, what are you even complaining about? That new music gets focus? You'd rather the place didn't?


I think he's referring (again) to the britpop thread. If you think metal is so much better and more interesting, why don't you explain why? Write about the different parts of the music and how they're played, etc. Don't just whine about how no one talks about metal. Start talking about metal!

I am beginning to really hate the metal community here in Italy. Too many posers that talk shit and really know nothing about it. But then again i pretty much hate everybody.

I'd say about 50% of what I listen to now is metal. Otherwise, I listen to a lot of grunge/alternative and some occasional jazz/swing. I also wouldn't exactly say I have a "metal" lifestyle (I have short hair, my friends are mostly non-metal fans, I'm very career/college-obsessed, etc.). I'd say I definitely have the spirit of a metalhead in me, but I don't know if I'd call myself a full-blown "metalhead."

As for the whole "civility" thing, your critique of it sounded very image-oriented. Isn't metal about being true to yourself rather than simply "playing a role"? If you're just naturally calm and proper, why pretend not to be? It's this kind of hypocrisy I can't stand about the metal community: "Here's how to be a non-conformist: Just listen to the same music we do, dress the way we do, and act the way we do." :rolleyes:

Don't read into it, haha-I'd been doing drugs. Still, I mostly agree with it. Crowbar lyrics are quality man, they're powerful.

I just meant that when I was getting into metal one of the things that appealed to me was the way people acted, and its disapointing to find people who dislike people acting like that. You don't necessicarily have to act like that, just not be a pussy when someone does because to an extent, it is to be expected.

I can't spell for shit, I'm knackered haha.
