this album is one of my favorite death metal releases, its well varied from the killer intro song Verdelet to the beautiful Shelter on Sand. Mendonca is one of the best vocalists in the genre, he on all of the tracks oh and the drumming!!
AHH i love this bands new stuff.
so much better then Opeth

Amazing album. One of the best death metal albums ever. Antichrist's extra interludes may enable Words to surpass it.

One of the best albums ever, if not the best in the death metal genre. I like this one better than Antichrist, which also ruled.

And yes, David Gray is one of the best drummers around, totally underrated.

My favorite 'cocke album, that's for sure. Close to flawless!

.:crast:.

Hrm, is this the review you had up at that other site Zad? It was what got me into Akercocke in the first place.

No, that was an earlier version of the review here for Goat Of Mendes. Glad someone got something from there! :D

Far and away their best album. Antichrist was a pretty big step down imo.

I agree its a fantastic album but I wouldn't say Antichrist was weak,I rather like it,and for some time it was a favorite but I'd say Choronzon is my numero uno.

Chronozon is amazing but it always seems too short minus the interludes.

That album might take some time to get used to. Breaking Silence, Menstrual Blood, Masks of God and Horns are awesome. I recommend giving it the time cause those are some of my favorite songs of theirs.

Being unable to fully enjoy GoM and Chronozon for some reason, I really like these last two, preferring Antichrist by an inch.

Now-a-days, of their earlier stuff, I only still like a few songs that much. Those being A Skin For Dancing In, Leviathan, Son of the Morning, and Horns of Baphomet.
