Hit, meet miss.

This is a really tough one for me, I like all the albums. There's a scattering of weak songs (Keeper III would be better with a couple of songs trimmed off it) but overall Helloween are a much more consistent band than they are generally given credit for.

I'm also a big lover of Gambling with the Devil, it's a great mix of Dark Ride heaviness and the happy factor of the two albums that precede it.

I love that one, too. Never understood the hate. Never understood how The Dark Ride is labeled a classic, either. Eh. Who cares.

I really dig them all and prefer Helloween with Andi Deris. Every album has something special about them, making them stand out. Personally, I have to go with "The Dark Ride" or "Gambling With The Devil". But of course, the "Keeper" albums are great as well. IMO, if they had taken the best songs from those two albums it would've been my favourite Helloween disc.

What the heck are you smoking? If anyone is sounding like someone here, then it's definetely Dragonforce being similar to Helloween. But also there, I can't really see where you're going. "Better Than Raw" is great. Just like the other ones. Very underrated album. I think part of the reasen why has got to do with it being released between "The Time Of The Oath" (the last classic Helloween disc?) and the more experimental "The Dark Ride".

Yes, I really like that one. Emotional vocal performance from Andi there. Almost like he's crying or something. :)

Mr. Torture is their catchier song with Andi Deris.

Another excellent track. Some really twisted lyrics on that one... but I like twisted. :D

So you don't see any point in listening to or discussing Deris era Helloween just because the albums with Kiske or Hansen are better?

For me, is the fourth... Walls of Jericho, Keepers I, Keepers II in that order are better than The Dark Ride (IMo) ... But there's a lot of AD ones better than Pink bubbles, & Chameleon is, by far, the worst Helloween record.

You should be right exept :
1 - Kai Hansen was an awful singer back then
2 - Keeper I & II are too cheesy for their own good
3 - Kiske's voice is too "pop" for my taste.

But, yeah, those are fine albums.

Well, I agree moreless (I think Hansen was not a great singer, but not horrible, and Keepers I is not very cheesy, opossite to Keepers II) but perhaps is that I'm emotional tied to these albums, I grew with them.
