Where is the new Sanctuary album?

Was there talk of one, or are you just being a silly goose?

Yeah I haven't heard about a reunion of Sanctuary.

That would be sweet if they did reunite and did a follow up to Refuge Denied and Into The Mirror Black.

i havent heard much of their older stuff save some random songs, but I really liked This Godless endeavor from the lyrics to Dane's vocalwork. I dont see why this band gets some of the bad flack they do

Who gives them bad flack other than Satan Stole My Teddy Bear?

Well there are those who don't understand Nevermore's music. They play so many different genders they can't really be lumped in one style and that is what makes them unique.

Plus there are some who can't stand Dane's voice he does have a unique emotional tone which might not be for some.

Nonetheless, they have a pretty uniform sound that transcends their entire discography. They aren't like, say, Queen (who'd typically have a heavy metal song, soft rock song, rockabilly song, disco song, and semi-ragtime song on the same album).

I've really never liked Nevermore, and after seeing Warrel Dane forget half the lyrics and slur every world he tried to sing when I saw them with In Flames maybe .... 3 years back now ( They had one of the guitarists from Testament on tour with them backing them ), it just reaffirmed my dislike for them.

Even trying to put my bias aside, the musicianship of the band was great live, everything they played sounded nearly identical to what I have heard on CD, but Dane ruined everything. He seriously didn't know half the lyrics or didn't care to sing them, continually called Jeff Loomis a bitch ( and not playfully ) and was content to stumble around stage... Either drunk or shot up on teh H.

I remember going outside later after their performance, and a huge Nevermore fan and his girlfriend were in an argument or the guy was just going off about the bad set or something. I actually laughed at the guy and told him I wasn't surprised, and both him and his girlfriend told me to shut the fuck up and went off on me for a few minutes. I was pretty stoned, so it was all quite hilarious.

Anyway, not a fan. I'm sure the next album will get like 100/100 and I'll think it's just OK. The only album I really have ever remotely enjoyed that they've done was Dead Heart in a Dead World, mostly due to the title track.

Dane was a big alcoholic back then... Not sure if he still is, but that's probably why.

I saw them after This Godless Endeavour came out, and they were spot on. Everything about the show was great. I guess it's all a matter of how drunk Dane is, but he was fine when I saw them.

Pretty sure he's kicked it now. I remember posting reports from a live show here back when it looked like they would find him drowned in his own vomit at any moment.

He was also studying a lot of Timothy Leary at the time, so he may have been doing LSD.

On a side note, did you all know that Warrel Dane (in addition to his work with Nevermore) is also a professional chef?

He owns a restaurant in Seattle, right?

Plenty of bands get pissed before a show, I thought it was a big insult to people like me who paid money to see a good show, and particularly to the Nevermore fans who were JUST there to see Nevermore.

That's great if he's cleared up and all now, but it was a total joke.
