After listening to this album for the first time in more than four months, I decided to give it the Hit Or Miss treatment here at the Metalreviews forum.

I vote "Hit." It's not my favorite Testament album (in fact, I think I may even like The Ritual a bit more), but it's a good one nonetheless. It's really more of a thrashy groove metal album (with one semi-death metal song and one borderline "funk metal" instrumental) than a full-blown thrash metal album. It has very modern production, the songs are typically on the mid-paced side, there's a pretty fair amount of melody to be found in it, etc. Nonetheless, I like it. My favorite song is probably Legions (In Hiding), followed by Chasing Fear. But I like pretty much every song on the album except for may be the closer Last Call.

I just never have any desire to listen to it over anything else they've done so I voted miss.

Miss for me too.
Anything after the 1rst three album is a miss in Testament's discography, this one's no exception.

Trail of Tears is nice, but other than that, a bore.
James Murphy is outstanding as always, though.

Not miss, not hit... in the middle, average to good album but nothing really outstanding.

Get the fuck out of here. The only album close to a miss is Demonic, and it's not even a bad album; just too "demonic" for my tastes.

Testament never grabbed me, and strikes me as a little (very) overrated. I own this one, and it's a Miss for me.

My only issue with Testament is Chuck's voice. I've never really enjoyed his vocals but Testament supplies riffs and leads a plenty. That makes the guitarist in me very happy :) .

hit;not a big hit, but still a hit for a thrash album released in 94 when the genre pretty much died away.

some very good songs:Dog Faced Gods, Chasing Fear, Hail Mary, Trail of Tears and the title track.
