How was it? Worth purchasing? I'm a bit worried about it, I was dissapointed with Epica, and I'm afraid this one will do the same for me. I love their older stuff though, that with Khan of course.

Well I haven't heard much of this band, so I can't really compare it with their older stuff. Anyway, it's really well done IMO; there are lots of interesting songwriting going on. Don't expect much speed going on though, as there are lots and lots of midpaced tempos.
Oh, and the Italian sung interlude made me laugh my ass off!! The pronounciation, albeit a tad goofy at points, is remarkably correct... but the way the chick sings (and the music underneath it!) inevitably conjures pictures of drunk people singing as they drag themselves out of the local pub in my mind

Excellent picks once again, brother; I still need to get that Horned Almighty album (and their 7" too), though... dammit, I need money :(

Ah yes, being broken is probably some of the worst that can happen to a metalhead, won't you agree? :) Okay, the worst thing that could happen would have to be if your entire cd collection were destroyed in a fire...or something like that

Dead on, man. I'm saving money for a quite large order now ;)
And yes, as childish as it might be, I often have scary thoughts about losing my record collection because of such an incident... or worse yet, because someone raided my apartment

What did you think of it? I bought that album two years ago or so, and found it pretty flat. Not terribly awe inspiring, or creative I found. I think I listened to it two or three times, and after that it rarely came off the cd rack

I am definitely un-impressed. Sounds like pure Marduk- Panzer Division era worship. Just blast beating all their way through the album with some terribly unoriginal riffing on top, fuckin' boring. Plus, the vocalist is terrible, and it annoys me so fuckin' much.

But meh.... it cost me around $4.50 so no big deal....

On the other side, The Ugly Organ kills all the way; awesome album!!!

No shit... I've worked hard to get my collection where it is now, and I have some extremely rare items that I could never replace. So yeah, having my record stolen or damaged is among my worst nightmares.

FUCK YEAH!! I find KoA to be really good instrumentists but inconsistent songwriters... and the band who has THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING WORST VOCALS I'VE HEARD SO FAR IN ALL OF BLACK METAL!!! And not only the tone is terrible, but the pronounciation is nonexistent; he could be screaming "tralalala, oh the lovely turquoise flowers!" for what you can hear... makes Maniac and the guy from Godless North seem comprehensible. Gah.

Emperor - Prometheus : hmmm, just wanted the last chapter of the band. Hoooiii!!! way to progressive for my taste, and very dissapointing, like the lyrics though. Of course, i might like some of the tracks when i've heard it once more. Their best album has to their first, "In the Nightside Eclipse" or "Anthems to the welking at dusk", where my personal favourite is ITNE, cuz it's the most blackish and cold of them all.

Leviathan - Tentacles of whorror : Wow, this i fucking great!

Don't give up on Prometheus; at first it may seem a bit too prog, but the more you play it, the more you'll like it.

And yes, Tentacles of Whorror is a modern Black Metal masterpiece that manages to create Prob Black Metal without sacrificing the pure BM essence in the way Prometheus did.

Two different examples of Progressive Black Metal.

maybe you're right. It's not like it's the first time i've bought something i thought was wacky the first time around, f.ex. Blut Aus Nord, and then liked it a lot afterwards. Actually many albums has to be heard alot before you really appreciate them. But then again, after i completly turned to BM, i don't need a second spin before i like it cuz i've gotten used to it. And i'm not used to the likes of Prometheus, if u follow me
