So im going to go out on a limb and say that most of the USBM I've heard from Imperial crystalline entombment to Leviathan and from there a lot more.

Can I just pop in here to defend Marduk? I've never liked the 'norsecore' term, it always seems like a dismissive term for Black Metal that's straightforwards and blasty instead of folky and all over the place. Early Marduk has links to Swedish Death Metal, then til recent it does get slightly dull and straightforward (although I personally love Panzer Division). They've been making an effort on their last couple of albums, Rom 5:12 especially is a great album, so it's a bit unfair to call them the dullest shittiest BM around.

i'm going to generalize here and say that most metalheads listen to more then one subgenre of the music. I dont peruse through all of the threads in every forum, and i freely admit that the vast majority of the black metal bands i've heard I have inability to get into. To not make this post in any way an analysis of bullshit, i'll just surmise when i use elitism for the sake of this thread it is used exclusively for black metal which as you said no one should care if a nineteen year old metalhead hates.

haha nah man last time i checked norsecore wasn't a legitimized genre in the music it was an angry term someone threw out against dark funeral or marduk.
Your right i've only been listening to the music for about five or six years as a whole. I don't have the wide knowledge of bands histories, ideologies, or what it is that innervates bands to make the music that we all listen to. I can only speak from what i've accumulated over these last few years hehe, that isn't much haha.

haha i know but i think Marduk never aimed to be a Summoning or create grandiose sonic landscapes . Their music is pretty bare bones speed, blast beats, blah blah. Its pretty primal but thats why I like it.

The " * " s paranthesising that phrase is to indicate PERSONAL dislikes... you do it with black metal, I could do it with grind / power, others may do it with death metal or thrash.
