That song is great. I haven't listened to anything Strato in quite some time.

Found another sample of "Higher We Go":

I'm really looking forward to this. I think everything may finally have worked out for Stratovarius in the end - I actually quite like the new Revolution Renaissance and the fact that Tolkki is trying to write something different, since his days as a grade-A speedy power metal writer are clearly in the past. So if the new Strato is good and sounds like proper Strato then two good bands could have come out of the whole mess.

Three, if this "Dreamspace II" isn't a total disaster.

What an ass!
Polaris is 10x better than RR's debut.

To me it sounded like there was really no soul in the songs, although technically it is very good I think what I really was hearing was the lack of soul in the songs.

That's how I could describe both of his albums with RR. The new Strato is not perfect, but it's way more enjoyable than Age of Aquarius.

Ex-Stratovarius member Timo Tolkki's has blogged on his Myspace page about a new project, titled 'Project Strato: Return To Dreamspace' with a link to a music page for the group of the same name.

This Myspace page shed's more light on the project:

"After Tolkki's departure from Stratovarius in the late 2007 an idea was born to get the classic Dreamspace line up together for an album. As a result the summer 2009 will be spent writing and demoing songs for a late 2009 release tentatively titled as: "PROJECT STRATO:RETURN TO DREAMSPACE". This album will see Timo Tolkki handling the vocals again and the fans of the Twilight Time/Dreamspace era will surely not be disappointed."

The reunited group is confirmed on Project Strato's Myspace as:

Timo Tolkki - Vocals&Guitar
Tuomo Lassila - Drums
Antti Ikonen - Keyboards
Jari Kainulainen - Bass

Let me tell you something about Polaris. What this album has is the energy and passion that Stratovarius was missing for the last few years. What it doesn't have is Tolkki's manic depression getting in the way of good songs much like their self titled bore fest.

Polaris > Anything from RR

I'm really liking this. :D
It sounds like their mid-to-late-90s stuff...

Full review is coming to MCDR soon, as well as a review for the new Rev Ren.

I had high expectations on the new Stratovarius after hearing the clips they had released, but oh man, was I disappointed. Yes, they lack soul or would I say good songwriting! Both hey, so does Timo's new RR, even though I think the first one was quite good. From the new RR and ST I would only say Age of Aquaris would be a real killer track.Productionwise they are both perfect and I think, unlike tolkki, Kotipelto is perhaps even better than before, but what does it help when songwriting is bad and I agree Emanicipation Part1&2 were real borefests and some of the most boring fillermaterial I heard. The new guitarist has written some awesome material and solos before, so I wonder why he writes this kind of music now... :/

In case ya'll haven't noticed yet - Stratovarius, Revolution Rennaisance, Winterborn, Primal Fear, DGM, Anubis Gate, Saint Deamon and may others are now on MCDR...
:D

Btw, I think the new Strato is fantastic, and I agree with the 4/5 rating and review by Craig B.

This album completely passed under my radar.
The samples posted here piqued my curiosity, so I went ahead and purchased the album. I'm glad to announce what many already have mentioned here lol: it's a solid album. In fact, it's the surprise of the year for me! I never thought I'd here another solid Stratovarius album since Infinite.

Great comeback!
