Man, Gods Of war is an annoying album. Listening to it the other day was like: "yeah, this is not as bad as I remembered". Then after hearing "Blood Brothers" and then heading into a 7 minute+ instrumental abyss, I was like: "Ahh, this is lame...".

Well, at least Maiden has been staying true to METAL.

With masterpieces as Nessum Dorma, American Trilogy, The March, and all these interludes in Gods of war, I think last two Manowar albums are better than all the rest of their discography (excepting my fav song from them, The warrior's prayer).

Obvious jokes aside, I never liked Manowar for some reason. Should definitely like them, judging by my taste, but they just never clicked with me

About the topic, well Iron Maiden is probably my favorite band ever so i dont know if any band can compete with them, but i can list you other bands that i think have more quallity than the rest:

Judas Priest
Black Sabbath
Overkill
Rush
Dio
Metal Church (new metal church destroys pretty much any other classic metal act today)
Running Wild
Virgin Steele
Thin Lizzy
Led Zeppelin
Deep purpple
Rainbow
Pagan Altar
Candlemass
The Lord Weird Slough Feg
Sodom

And if you want a band that have a similar sound to Iron Maiden you should listen to Aria, they're basicaly the russian version of Maiden.
