It sucks that it will take over a year before we get to hear new material, but what the hell, I'd rather want a killer album every fourth year than a filler every year...

Still, two thumbs up for new Blind Guardian! :dio:

Hope this is better than their previous album, which was good but not as great as "Night at the Opera" or "Nightfall".

I think "Nightfall" is their crowining achievement but "A Night At The Opera" would have been up there too if it wasn't so overproduced. That album would have benefited greatly to be re-recorded in a bit more stripped down version. If you remove all the overlayed vocals and some of the orchestrations you'd probably have the best Blind Guardian album ever. :)

I agree on that as well. Musically speaking, I think "A Night at the Opera" was almost perfect. "Nightfall" had more of a metal sound to it, and the vocal work was clearer (without the overdone vocals like you mentioned). IMO, "Nightfall" is slightly better.

As for their new song "Sacred", I think its OK but not even close to their weakest songs on "Nightfall" and "A Night at the Opera".
