umm technical yes atheist are technical coz half of you don't know much about the more technical aspects of music to really compare but yes they are since it is technically more demanding than anything nile ever produced
NO!!! Behemoth is not nile minus the pyramids those guys are great musicians mainly due to their mastery of the lydian mode
and if you want to the best tech death metal think of death ( unless you're deaf you would know that the double tapping at the beginning of the philosopher is probably the best example of two finger tapping ever!!!)
but the most technical band is necrophagist due their neo-classical influence but strictly speaking it derives more from the baroque period

Necrophagist steps over the line into wankery a bit too often.

true nile are technical but they are not quite as obvious as some other bands but jesus christ some of the chord sections are probably the most technical usage of power chords i have ever heard i probably wasn't payin attention or something but listen to the main riff on annihilation of the wicked it is very technical but they do have a load of rubbish material

take out the pyramids and you get Behemoth, actually

I don't hear any blackened death metal in Nile. I just hear suffocation + egyptian theme + speed + inspired song writing (not including ithyphallic of course).

Behemoth haven't been 'blackened' for a while now.
