So anyone doing some songs and shit on your own at home? I'd love to hear them if you got some. We can criticize each other and shit. I've got a song I've been meaning to finish for the past month, but can't be arsed to do the mixing. A fruity loops song that is. Nothing much.

This should be another thread.

This is the last song I was involved in writing with my ex-band. This is a live performance we gave some time back, but the quality is pretty decent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDFo8GGLDVU

I got kicked out for not practicing enough to maintain the adequate level of technical proficiency. I just didn't have the time what with school and all.

Cheers ha ha ha! I'm glad you like them :).

I did all that stuff in Reason 3. I actually have a proper recording setup now though, and've got a thing for college to do that involves me ripping off the Silent Hill OSTs, so hopefully I'll up date it soon :D.

I want to record a couple arrangements of video game songs that I put together, but the only person I know with a decent recording setup is moving to Georgia. :[

Hopefully I can at least get one song done.

Shit, man, you should form your own band.
Could be a blessing in disguise, getting the boot.

Things happen for a reason, and the trick is turning a seemingly negative event into an oppurtunity.

Hell, Lemmy got kicked out of Hawkwind, and he's now a rock icon. Ozzy got kicked out of Sabbath, a nd did quite well (for a while...).

I'm putting together a country and folk group right now. Already found a violin, a tin whistle and a mandolin.

Yeah but it doesn't need much practice at all (unless I'm really underestimating my acoustic skills). It's just a thumbpick with some slow fingerpicking, followed by strumming. Albert Lee, on the other hand...

Start out with some country strumming stuff, then move onto Dylan for some more diverse strumming, is what I can recommend. As for fingerpicking, just fingerpick various chords.
