Has anyone else heard these? They sound great. Warm, dense, punchy and guitar tone is unbelieveable. It doesn't replace the '94 remasters, but it sure makes for a good alternative.

What do you say?

(yeah, no one's gonna buy the damn things, but a download is just as good considerng most of us have bought all their albums more than once.)

Someone should send Lars an email saying something like "Hello Lars, I just downloaded the entire Metallica back catalogue, therefore you will never make any money off of me unless you design a really cool t-shirt." I can picture him slamming his head into the computer screen already.

I think Lars is over that crap now.
He'd probably just smirk and say "fucker".

okay, so no one actually cares that there are two different mixes of metallica's old albums floating around? I do, and I thought other people might. The new mixes are good. They sound like classic old-school metal mixes rather than the "clarity, dynanmic range and over-texturilization is everything" school of 80's production. I like this production myself, but the new ones sound incredible too.

Anyway, this is for the people that havn't gotten too kvlt to enjoy metallica.

There is plenty about Metallica to enjoy, but I'm not going to switch to vinyl just to hear a slightly different take on the old albums which most people know by heart at this point.

The only album I'd check out again would be Kill 'em All, cause it has shitty production and maybe it improved a bit. But I don't buy vinyl so yeah, not gonna bother.

That's my point, you don't have to listen to or buy the vinyl, you can get a copy of these by other means.
