Dark Tranquillity sound so amateurish in comparison to Arsis though. the guitar harmonies on The Gallery or The Mind's Eye are so sloppy and all over the place in comparison to A Celebration of Guilt, United in Regret, or especially a Diamond for Disease, whose guitar parts are both more complex and tightly written.

Necrophagist take like 10 years to write an album and Behemoth have sounded the same on the last 3-4 albums, therefore they lose to Arsis too ^_^

Demigod was better than anything Arsis will ever produce.

Thanks to DW for correcting me: Death tie with Arsis. That's about all, though.

lol, no. Demigod is good at best, boring at wost, and overall just plain decent. I haven't heard anything by Behemoth that's anything more than "cool."

A Diamond For Disease may be one of the coolest 12 minute songs ever. Entire careers, I'd put Death over them but Arsis has also only released three full-lengths. Given time, Noodles could be proven correct.

I mean, there's no real reason why Arsis couldn't turn out to be better than, say, Death one day, but I just don't see it at the moment.

When I met the guy he seemed to have his shit together. I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying or anything, but everything seemed like it was going well for him.

Now that I think about, him hanging out in a record store and talking for over an hour reeks of coke or speed.

I didn't know who he was at the time, but I was filled in after he left. I guess my bud doesn't want me annoying the musicians that come in there.

I still have a copy of that first demo they made with the crappy stickered on label.

I hope the guy feels better, he's a nice guy and the way you guys talk, a good musician.

I'm on board with Arsis being amazing and kewl, but there are a ton of death metal bands better than Arsis. Necrophagist, Death, Behemoth, In Flames... oh yes I said it.

Of course, In Flames is da best.

Two different styles.
The comparisons in this thread make no sense whatsoever.
