No love for Sy Keeler (Onslaught) here? Back in '87 his vocals were incredible, they've lost a little power now but they're still amazing.

Today Araya sings or screams IMO a little to high, but on Hell Awaits or Reign in Blood he's awesome.

And I'm wondering that nearly noone mentioned Hetfield or Mustaine, because they have IMO very unique voices which are fitting perfectly to Thrash.

I mean, when we debate about Thrash singer, it's not so about singing quality, but more about if it fits to the genre and other qualities (transporting the aggression, angriness, violence etc. ).

Since Metallica has been shit for twenty years, Hetfield's voice does fit the music perfectly

the thing about thrash is there really isn't a defined thrash growl
i mean frankly i love hetfield's and mustaine's voice but it wouldn't suit every thrash band

Neil Turbin, seriously?

He's cool, but in you top 5? Really? Seriously?

I agree with him.neil Turbin sings with balls of steel. :dio:

Yep.
He is one of the better Thrash vocalists.
Chuck Billy is another.
Ballof.
Cronos.
Can't really think of any others that really stand out.

Man, you miss the point. His voice audibly cracks, it's terrible.

Everything about new Metallica sucks so much, it's sad that now the radio station Liquid Metal is dedicating an entire month to Metallica. But the first song they played was So What...

I don't know what's worse, Metallica or their annoying fanboys.

i can't think of any great vocalists in thrash. when i listen to thrash, i just hope that the singer won't be sucky and make me wonder when he'll shut up so the song can get back to the guitar playing

Chuck Billy has one of the most one-dimensional death metal growls I've ever heard.

I like them, i'm just sayin...

Sy Keeler is one of my favourite thrash vocalists (at least his performance on The Force).

I'd also mention Michael Jackson (Satan/Pariah), great singer, one foot in thrash , the other in heavy metal.

It audibly cracks now, but he wasn't doing that back when they were actually playing Thrash metal. Hell, he practically sounds like a different guy now.

Man, satellite radio post-merger blows donkey scrotum. What was one of my favorite things in the world has turned into a crumbling shadow of it's former self. There's more commercials than ever on Raw Dog, and XM's music library was always ass. It's basically regular radio with a few swear words tossed in now. What a letdown.

No truer words have ever been spoken.

I miss Buzzsaw...Boneyard has too much hair metal/cock rock bullshit. Go to Hair Nation with that shit.
