It have been listening to deaths discography again recently and my favorite is individual thought patterns. It has the perfect mix of technicality and aggressiveness. Symbolic lost that aggressiveness i think.

I'm one of those who prefer The Sound of preservance.. What an amazing album that is. Symbolic on a close second.

I love Individual Thought Patterns; for me it is the best mix of proggy elements and death metal power that Death achieved.

i'm not really sure. i've always been biased towards Sound of Perseverance because i listened to it a ton before exploring Death's other albums, and to this day i'm still way more familiar with it than the others. not a fan of Human or Individual Thought Patterns because Steve Digiorgio's bass playing bugs me; i'm surprised i said they were equal to symbolic in that other thread.

I like SoP.

I own Symbollic, but never really got into it.

I don't understand why they are so loved and thought to be the undenialable favourites. I like both, just not as much as the older Death.
