Yeah, most non-fundie Christians don't seem to follow the Bible literally, which is a good thing, no?</quote>

Of course it is... if they follow the Bible literaly, they will spend all time lapidating people, selling people as slaves or seeding salt in the fields.

I'm an atheist, but I'm not an activist against religion if it doesn't try to spend ignorance, like design intelligent or creationism do, or to take off rights from people, like they do with gays or the Islam against women.

I'm not saying Christians get their morals from somewhere else. My last post proved that. The problem is that Christians still THINK they're getting their morals from somewhere else. My argument was that the source Christians think they're getting their morals from is in fact very immoral. I can see you my previous posts might have been a bit too convoluted... Basic point I guess is that the Bible is nothing more than ancient literature, no more valid as a moral guide than Norse Sagas or the Epic of Gilgamesh, or the Iliad.

Well you don't really know where Christians "think" they are getting their morality from, though, right? Presumably if they really thought they had to get their morals from the Old Testament, and if the Old Testament is as immoral as you say, then why would there be any Christian charities at all doing anything except forcing abstinence on people and so forth? You still seem to be portraying them as a bunch of aliens, IMO.

But anyway, of course I agree re: the Bible, if that is your point. But I thought your point was that Christians do nice things because of the fear of the divine, and were discarding the idea that a Christian can be as moral as an atheist accordingly.

Some (maybe a lot; I haven't listened to them much) of that band's stuff sounds HELLA like a Fabio Frizzi soundtrack to a classic Fulci zombi film, though... At least a more high-budget version of that sound.

....Voila

I've reviewed a Stephen O'Malley project for this upcoming week that you should like. Very horror soundtrack, and with David Tibet! Should review that latest Zombi too, although that's more Carpenter-ish I think.

Ooh by the way for anyone that is interested in these types of proggy-synth music with horror themes....

*tumbleweed*

......check out Morte Macabre. They were recommended to me by Misha ages ago and I've been digging them ever since.

Theyre an Italian prog rock band from the 60`s with horror/occult themes, if you can you should try to get a hold of their first album "In Cauda Semper Stat Venenum" i couldnt find any samples but here is a little more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacula

Speaking of David Cross, I heard some of his stand-up earlier and it's pretty funny.
