Heard a new Static-X song. Was meh. Also, new MDB soon, a friend of mine who downloads lots of stuff told me that it has leaked.

Yes, I heard it last week. Not really formulated an opinion yet though.

I heard it. It's totally different. Not sure if I like it.

Is it me, or are those programmed blastbeats too much? I had to stop listening for a minute after the third track...

But their last album was a step in the right direction at least.

Listeened to a whole lot of Atheist today; when they reunite are they going to release an album or is it still up in the air?

Haven't they been on the Upcoming albums in 20xx for the past 3-4 years?

Looking forward to the new Maiden. New Deicide? Get some vocal lessons first, Benton, then maybe I'll listen to your new stuff.

It's probably been mentioned, but a new Hypocrisy is likely this year. Pretty excited about that.

And as I said before, Immortal... Those fuckers better come through. =(

I never get people who say things like this. What, Deicide are going symphonic-prog? Pure Death Metal, and Benton'll do his usual thing.

I think a new studio album's expected from Atheist, Trapt, not sure of details though.

Nah man, I didn't mean it that way. I loved his vocals on his first few albums, but his newer ones are as if he's just sucking in air to get even lower. I feel it's kinda boring, quite monotonous compared to what he did in his younger days.

Meh... I liked the last Deicide, despite it not being as widdly-solo'ed as Stench. Pretty solid band, all in all, I just hate that people say yeah, Cannibal Corpse, great solid band and then shit on Deicide for taking their own path and actually making different albums.

Ten years old, Sunn O)))’s seventh album, Monoliths & Dimensions is coming out of the vortex May 18 on Southern Lord. Fans of walls of sounds, loud noises, and feedback, mark your calendars, because this album is promising to be a doosey just given the sheer size and shape of the ensemble surrounding it. The band, however, emphatically states that this is not "SUNN with strings." Instead, they "took an approach concentrating on more of allusion toward the timbre of feedback and the instruments involved, so the piece is really illusory, beautiful and not entirely linear."

Not sure what that means, but I do know the facts, and the facts are that, in addition to Oren Ambarchi and Attila Csihar (man, I hope his mom named him that on her own), this time they are working with Eyvind Kang (who has played viola in or with the likes of Bill Frisell, Secret Chiefs 3, Mike Patton, Blonde Redhead, and Laura Veirs to name a handful), Julian Priester (who has worked with Sun Ra, John Coltrane, and Herbie Hancock), Dylan Carlson (Kurt Cobain’s total BFF and lead guitarist/singer/basically only constant of droney band, Earth), and Stuart Dempster (a horn player who not only won the Guggenheim in ’81, but is also credited for introducing the didjeridu to North America) as well as three upright bassists, French and English horns, a harp and flute duo, piano, brass, reed and strings ensembles, and there’s rumor of a partridge in a pear tree, but that has not been confirmed as of yet. Oh, and there’s also a Viennese woman’s choir led by Jessika Kenney.

Monoliths & Dimensions tracklist:

1. Aghartha
2. Big Church [megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért]
3. Hunting & Gathering (Cydonia)
4. Alice

Can I get a FUCK, YEAH!

Have I not been paying enough attention to the thread or have we not yet talked about the new Wolves in the THrone Room?

Don't think so. It's supposed to be much better than the Malevolent Grain EP.

I'll give you a FUCK, YEAH! :P

I don't even want to know what that word means. Those Finno-Ugric languages and their long words. (Coming form a German, as well...)

It was ok, I'm not that into black metal so it didn't do a whole lot for me. I prefer Two Hunters.

Having only heard 12 Stars before listening to their new one, I thought it was a lot better than their earlier Weakling plagiarism, which wasn't bad by any means.
