Destruction for me. As much as I like Kreator's first three and especially PtK, Destruction up to Cracked Brain steamrolls everything else. Closely followed by early Kreator, Sodom, Tankard, and Assassin, though.

The fact that nodoby barely mentioned Vendetta just shows how underrated they are.

If I could change my vote, I'd go with them.

I was just thinking the same.. I think I voted for Tankard. Vendetta at least owns Paradox and Deathrow, and are definitely next to Kreatoir and Sodom for me.

I dunno, Vendetta are good but I wouldn't vote for them considering the other bands on the poll. Good musicianship but not abrasive enough for my liking.

Good musicianship + kick ass technical thrashing songs + cool vocals + jazzy and bluesy and classical elements + good sense of speed/melody/heavyness + german attitude = kick ass win thrash in my books

I dunno, to me the vocals lack the "German attitude" so to speak at least compared to early Kreator, Sodom, or Destruction. They're a cool band but I guess for similar reasons that as much as I appreciate bands like Atheist I'll still take a band with a "dirtier" sound like early Pestilence over them.

I get you there.

Somedays I'd rather listen to Exumer than Vendetta.

It all makes sense now.

Exactly. But speaking of Exumer...Thrasho de Mayo...I cried a little inside. It seems that this year I feel like I'm missing all worthwhile shows. Even though I've seen them before, I'm still pissed that I have to miss the upcoming Destruction and Exodus/Kreator/Warbringer shows. Not only that but missing Monarque too. Bah, Fucking hell [/brief rant of annoyance]

Yeah missing Exumer will suck/sucked?, but there is no way I miss Destruction/Kreator/Exodus/Warbringer.

Not going to happen.

Am I strange for preferring the B-list bands there (i.e. Tankard, Holy Moses) to the A-list ones (Sodom, Kreator, Destruction)?

Not at all Rio, I'd take Deathrow, Assassin, Wehrmacht, Vendetta or Grinder over those supposed-to-be-A-list-bands anyday. :dio:

:) good

Holy Moses
Tankard
then Sodom

I guess would be my top three. Some of the less well-known ones on that list I'm not familiar with.

Ho yeah, indeed.
The name must have got me confused.

Let's have Risk on the list instead.

Risk is pretty good, but I wouldn't pick them over Kreator, Destruction or Sodom.

I always had more fun listening to Risk than Kreator, Destruction or Sodom. Imho, thrash is all about fun, so I'll pick Risk over any of these bands.

There is definitely nothing more fun than a Mad Butcher raising the Flag of Hate in a Nuclear Winter.

Oh what a Morning After...

I'd go with Destruction. I just love Schmier's old school 'pariah' vocals, something that's not weakened even after 20 years. Close second would be Kreator, then Sodom.

All my friends keep telling me Kreator's the best but I think it's more of a personal opinion. And they feel 'Hordes of Chaos' is out of this world. I just think it's Enemy of God Pt2, but good nevertheless.

I don't want to vote since I have not listened to all the bands on that list. From what I've listened to, it's a tough call between Kreator and Sodom, but Sodom has a slight, a very slight edge.
