can't wait to hear what they'll do without Anneke. wasn't too impressed with Home but i feel like they could come back from that.

Agreed with you guys. Home was ok.. had a few good songs but nowhere near the mid-era with Anneke. I can't wait to see how they do, either. I'm hopeful that they'll take everyone by surprise.

The way I see it is that we now have two great bands instead of just one (The Gathering and Anneke's Agua de Annique/solo stuff).

i heard Agua De Annique's album, it was pretty good. worth listening to but not as good as her best stuff with The Gathering. she released a new album this year with a bunch of guest singers that i've been meaning to check out.

Well, personally I'm a huge fan of Agua de Annique and the Pure Air solo album (which are b-sides and alternate duet versions of songs on the Agua de Annique album) but that's because I'm a big fan of acoustic music. I don't think that if you didn't like Home, you won't like Agua de Annique, though. Home was just too experimental and boring at times.

It's definitely more airy and less metal than The Gathering's Nighttime Birds/Mandylion but if you like her voice and can enjoy acoutic stuff, it's absolutely great. Her cover of Morisette's Ironic is even better than the original, IMO.

Hm, maybe I'll give it a try although it does seem like it could be a bit too girly for my super manly listening tastes.
