I'd go with Blessed... Altars of Madness is more oldschool and raw. Usually I like my death metal not with completely bad production, save some cases. Like Autopsy and Pestilence.

Yes... I heard BatS first, and was surprised when I heard Altars, because that album actually sounds more "mature" to my ears. BatS is almost punky at times where as AoM is more intenste, as you say.

I'd go with Covenant, but isn't in the list :lame: . So, Altars gets my vote. One of the best debuts ever in the Metal History.

Altars of madness is intense I get a rush when listening to Chapel of Ghouls and Lord of all fevers and plagues every song is fast paced and is perfect for running. By far my favorite album by the band

Altars of Madness by quite a long shot. Maze of Torment probably being my favourite.

Altars Of Madness for me too. Granted Blessed Are The Sick was a little more varied. But, AOM is more intense. Tough call by the way.

I wouldn't just vote Altars of Madness in this poll. I'd rank it in thte top 3 Death Metal albums of all time. Everything is precise. It's so violent.

When I look for good death metal, I look for something that really resounds and thrashes. It can't just be senseless heaviness though.

Altars combines everything I'm looking for in Death Metal.

Altars most definitely, though they are my two favourite albums. Altars contains my favourite MA songs, though so it takes the prize.
