Yesterday I spun the Ayreon album "01011001"... with one box of coke, popcorn, headphones and booklet. :D

How was it?

Sorry for the late answer... :D

It was acually a very good way to really get into the album, although I feel it may require more spins to let the whole "atmosphere" of the CD come through. Very cool concept. Other than that, the coke was good... and so was the popcorn! (a little burned perhaps :) )

Sólstafir - Kold

It's early, but new Kreator and this one will be, easily, in my 2009 list.

"Pure" by Godflesh. I still think this is some of the most truly brutal and dark music ever made.

Review Monday!

Gave Jamie Saft - Black Shabbis a spin on the bus to work this moaning. Not bad, would love to see the lyrics (Lucifer's Son?).

Gilad Atzmon- Take it or leave it

This is Gilad doing proper post-bop jazz, rather than middle eastern folk-fusion stuff of the Orient House Ensemble.

I recommended Gilad Atzmon and the Orient House Ensemble to people here years back and I think Misha and Stefan really dug it. Anyway, I'll do so again for the newer folk. It is a fusion of Jazz and Israeli/Palestinian folk music, by one of the UK's best saxophonists.

This is really cool, I guess you would call it fusion. The drummer is a guy I used to play in a band with for a long time, although nowadays I guess you would say he is a bit beyond my level.

I remember; I think you even sent me a track of it! I'll have to find the full thing.

Dead Can Dance - ST (1984)

Very Joy Divisionish. Me likes.

Ha, I searched to see if it had been reviewed yet, the system said yes but only loaded a blank page... now I know why

I'll assume by the number of Dio's that it will be a complimentary review?

Span SSD - This City Speaks in Tongues twice in a row on a long drive today.... not quite as good as Time Like Vines but really unique and awesome... easily 85+
