With a new Morbid Angel album on the horizon, I thought that maybe we should discuss them a little to get people interested. Also to see which of these 2 great death metal albums is your favourite.

Altars of Madness gets my pick.

It is a death metal classic, and one of my favourite all time metal albums. It's fast, heavy, brutal, and awesome. Everything somebody would want from an old school death metal album. Now don't get me wrong, I like Blessed are the Sick to, but not nearly as much.

I'm thinking Blessed. I might even go with Covenant as my favorite. I haven't given Altars as many listens but that is because I prefer Blessed.

Just had to be different.

I think both are great albums, probably some of Morbid Angel's finest work.
I'd go with Blessed are the Sick I find slightly more progressive and varied.
Like trapt, I prefer Covenant over those two but it's a close call.

I've yet to hear Covenant, save a few songs.

Both of you guys praising it, I guess I should check it out.

But Altars is still better.

You're unique buddy, we praise an album you admit not knowing well and, yet, you still put your choice first.

As I said, ALtars is one my all time favs. I have heard a few songs from Covenant, which I liked, but not better than anything from Altars. I will one day hear Covenant in full and post my feelings about it.

But I bet you 20$ (e-cred dollars) that I will like Altars better. And no, I wont just say that to spite you.

Plus I forgot my smiley again when I said Altars is better.

I "felt" the smiley anyway...
And, yes, you will probably like Altars better, because you're emotionally attached to it.

No because I'm sure you'd win.

It would be like comparing Hold Your Fire to Hemispheres for me. I know Hemispheres is supposed to be better but it won't never win over Hold Your Fire in my book as I'm emotionally attached to the latter.

Ah, Rush in death metal talks. Better than sex.

Ok, let's bet on which of Altars and Blessed will be leading monday morning... I say Blessed.

It's not much of a bet when both of us pick the same one.

But, I will bet you that Altars will have more votes.

EDIT: ho shit did I ever spell significant wrong...

If I only could choose between those two, I'd say Blessed. I must admit to being quite the fan of "Formulas Fatal to the Flesh" though!
Not to mention Covenant, and Domination! (But I fucking hate Where the Slime lives!)

Ohhhh tough one. I think I'd have to go Altars Of Madness though. Maze of Torment, Evil Spells, Chapel Of Ghouls, Immortal Rites. yeah, uber win on all accounts with that album.
