Testament is my choice. I feel they have they best discography and most consistency in terms of material. Great band.

It's a bit odd Metallica's leading this. 2 years ago they wouldn't have gotten many votes, would they?

Yeah I actually shouldnt have included Metallica on the list because I forgot....they're not a thrash metal band.

Out of that particular scene, Heathen is probably my favorite, though I might have voted Megadeth if they were listed.

Now, if it were "best US 80's thrash band", I would vote Overkill.

Metallica. By an unreachable margin.

Technically Slayer are more from the LA area. But since they are up there I'll put in a vote for them. Testament is awesome too. They are a close second.

Metallica were also from LA, they moved to Cliff's hometown of San Francisco after "hiring" him

[quote="Edit: Actually, now that I think on it a bit more, both rule. Its like choosing between a hairless cock and a hairy one: Both have their advantages.[/quote]

Interesting comparison. Mind if I substitute a vagina for a cock, while not caring that you used a cock?

Yea I know Metallica were from LA. But they're considered a Bay Area band because they didn't catch on with fans until their big break in the Bay Area.

I have to pick Testament, remarkably strong body of work. I am sure Heathen would creep in there if they had more than 2 albums.

Voted Exodus, imo,THE Bay Area thrash metal band.

I have a few remarks:first of all,how can one forget about Forbidden and Possessed in a BA thrash bands list,is beyond me.
Also, imo, putting Slayer on a BA thrash bands list is like putting Coroner(or Artillery) on a German thrash metal bands list.
Last but not least,i'm a bit surprised with Heathen's popularity on MR:sure they're a good band, but i'd take Death angel,VIO-lence,Forbidden,Holy Terror or even Testament over Heathen any day.Just a matter of taste,i guess...

I feel like an idiot but I voted for Metallica because I have all of their good albums. Slayer is second in my books.
