Another forgotten band worthy of mention: Sacrilege.
Fronted by Lynda Simpson, they were in their first two albums (Behind THe Realms Of Madness, 1985, Within The Prophecy, 1887) a generic thrash band (well, woth the oddity of being fronted bt a woman). But for their third (and last) album, the incredible Turn Back Trilobite (1989) they mixed Doom & Thrash, and that's a masterpiece. Not the typical band, but really interesting.

Blessed Death

Formed in '84. From New Jersey.
They have only three albums. The first, Killed or be Killed came out in 85. The second, Destined for Extinction, came out in 87. Both released on Megaforce. The third album, Hour of Pain, was sopposed to be released in '91, but they were having internal problems. They broke up in '92. Then in 2006, the band members decided to finally independently release the album. Its been remastered. The first two are still out of print. I just got my copy of Hour of Pain in the mail today. A little bit of Anthrax and Slayer, mixed with some crossover. Pretty good stuff.

I've heard some Blessed Death. I have a few songs from Kill or Be Killed. I like them, kinda Slayerish mixed with some Souza-Exodus.

Yea. The vocals are like Souza. But my first thought was Sepultura when the vocals are harsh. The vocals are not nearly as harsh as Max Cavalera. I have second thoughts on them sounding slayerish. They sound little bit blackened thrash too. Theres are slow parts that give off a cold dark aura, like Mayem. The general tone of the guitars sound almost BM. The vocalist also does low grunts here and there. Its like they blended everything perfectly. Overall its a pretty bombastic thrash album. Really great.

Exhorder can be considered as semi-obscure... but, Nuclear Assault? Vio-Lence? C'mon man, do your homeworks!

Dunno if it's been mentioned but Deathrow was a cool thrash act from Germany... Also Morsüre from my homeland (France), did some pretty good raw thrash back in the days...

I find Deathrow quite boring, actually lots of those obscure bands...why?, well because lots of those bands have no "style" I mean it's quite hard to differ them from the "average", actually what I mean lot's of these bands have nothing to "point out out of the crowd", when you're listening them, they're just an thrash band and nothing special. If you understand what I mean.

I stopped reading after Deathrow was followed by quite boring.

What are you talking about? Raging Steel is awesome. As is most other Deathrow songs/albums.

Just put the parentheses around 'old' and this thread would be a lot better and I could recommend Rumpelstiltskin Grinder to everyone.

They're awesome but hardly obscure (Relapse records baby!).
Did you hear the new album?

They may not be obscure but they are untalked about. The new one is good, on the same level as the first in my opinion.
