Did anybody here hear Orne? It's the guys from Reverend Bizarre switching to dark prog rock. They only released one album, Conjuration By The Fire (2007), and it's completely awesome. They have another one in the works, and also Albert apparently quit the band, but the good news is he did the vocals for this one before he left. Can't wait for it.

And speaking of RB, Peter Vicar also has a new doom band, called Lord Vicar, which just released the debut album, Fear No Pain, last year. Quality trad doom, as expected.

It's kind of weird, but in 20 years of existence Thorns released only one full-length. So they could be mentioned.

For the dead and buried ones, I can think of Millennium, pretty good nobhm band. And Visceral Evisceration, a strange gore themed doom/gothic band, they only released one album back in 94. Pretty good though.

I should check dat out.

also I'm surprised you didn't mention The Postman Syndrome, if they qualify. I actually haven't heard Terraforming but it sprung to mind.

Was just going a little through this thread and wondered how I could forget this band. Sanctus, a black metal band from USA. They released only one album, Aeon Sky. There is a review for that album on this site. Brilliant stuff.

They released this amazing Ep, and one other two song demo, but its short as all hell and rough, I consider the EP to be the only proper release.

Absolutely love that EP, one of my most treasured possessions.

Morbid Scream only ever put out two short demos but were a fucking great band and could have been one of the best if they'd continued as well as kept on in the direction of those two demos. One of my favourite thrash bands despite that. Thanks to McGovern they can still be enjoyed today
